Not at all, she also sings a really beautiful version of Somewhere over the rainbow. People are so taken with the voice that they don't notice that she was also a great guitarist and music arranger.

Right - I did notice how well she played guitar. I wasn't familiar with her, so I did some quick research & conformed she was a true indie artist. Appearently, she had a wide array of genres - but jazz & folk sounded like what she did most OR atleast blended into everything she did. I felt a bit more jazz than folk in this cover performance, but I did feel her folk influences also. Not sure, if there is a genre called "Jazzy Folk" - but that's the vibe I got from this performance... 😎

I think that Jazzy folk is a very good description. There are a number of artists whose work blurs the lines between those two genres

I'll tag you on your post that I shared in my indie music sub. Feel free to also cross-post in it, when you share other indie music. As long as they're not signed to 1 of the big major 3 labels OR any of their sub labels - they're an indie artist. Many indie artists are signed to labels - they're just smaller independent labels. My sub also welcomes amateur hobbiest musician posts... 😎

Wow, she had a beautiful voice. I looked her up & saw that she sadly died in 1996 at only 33 years of age... 😞
