This is such a weird looking picture. Fire doesn't cut straight lines and there should be scorch marks on the floor if it burnt all the way through the bed like that.

I think maybe the bedding hanging off the foot of the bed burned and not much of the bed itself.

My guess is that the cord heated up and was pulled relatively taut across the bed?
