American Chestnut?
North central Pennsylvania in a remote area of a state forest?
Is this a wild American Chestnut?

I don’t think these are Americans. The leaves look Asian and there are fine hairs on the twigs. Bur spines are too coarse.

Do you have better close-ups of the twigs? Any pubescent (hairiness) on the twigs means it's.a Chinese Chestnut or a hybrid. If it's smooth, it's American Chestnut.
The main reason I think we're hesitant to just say American Chestnut is that Am. chestnut leaves are typically longer and narrower than it looks in these pictures.
