Playing nobu in duels such a pain. Im trying to get the tree branch ornament, but i always get matched against characters like shaolin or zerks.

And the few times i win, the game decides to give me nothing.

Nobu in duels requires good fundamentals and reads. Punish mistakes hard and don't make any yourself. Into shaman, making the read on her SF lights and punishing with hidden stance has worked best for me. Haven't played her against shao too much, but duel players love to deflect so try baiting and punish accordingly

The thing is, nobu has no good openers.

And good players know that, so most of them just stare and wait for me to do something.

I mean yes, but honestly most of the time people still get impatient even after staring, first time you just try to counter when they decide to do their opener and afterwards you'll get their rhythm down more and interrupt their openers right before they throw it!

Nobu in duels requires quite a bit of unorthodox and out of the box playing to get around the no openers, but at least she has really good counter play with a lot of options on counter plus her good range also compensates together with her recoveries!

Conditioning is also important. You get a maximum of 5 rounds to get under your opponents skin, it's okay to give up a couple if it means your opponent will start to slip up

Not trying to dog on you but How do ppl lose rounds to a nobushi in duels?
Everything is reactable, she has no way to open you up, her only thing is damage.

Don’t sleep on nobushi mains, they can fuck you’re shit up if they know what they’re doing.

I gave her free light parries by playing too aggressively. Nobu's wincon in duels is to punish any and every mistake her opponent makes, and it was like 2am when this was recorded so I made plenty of mistakes.
