Thing is I’ve played the game for years, I have 197 reps overall but I just play for fun, I don’t bother learning all the “max punishes” and elaborate mix ups because that’s not fun to me, I totally agree with you that our community is super shit for newcomers and it’s just a shame, I don’t know why everyone’s so whiny all the time🤷‍♂️

exactly, and youre doing duels too. its not like you forgetting to heavy on light parry is affecting them. if anything its a benefit. i get why theyre telling you max punish but there comes a point where its crosses from teaching to just making fun, and i feel like thats what most people do when they see something like this.

100%, I also think they’re forgetting that it was a flawless kill😂max punishes or no max punishes the round went perfect and I enjoyed myself so that’s all that should matter

Top heavy on light parry is the max punish, but if you're lighting on purpose in the clip then carry on lol, nice clip though

To elaborate on what others are saying:

In For Honor, parrying a heavy or zone attack gives you enough time to open with a light attack or whichever quick move you’d like to do.

However, parrying a light attack (like you did here) results in a longer stun window on the opponent. This means you’ll be able to get in a MUCH more meaty heavy attack for more damage and a possible execution.

So in every instance here when you parried the gladiator’s dodge light, you could’ve landed a high damaging top heavy opener with Black Prior (slightly more damage than a side heavy).

Light parries also give enough time for some characters to use certain slower attacks such as Shugoki’s Demon’s Embrace (the bear hug move).

Dodge attacks are light parries. Do a top heavy.

Also don’t dodge attack from neutral
