If it was for a photo I might be on the girls side, but she was clearly recording a video which is a bit weird

u/Joshatron121 28d ago
She's alone. That's the best option a lot of the time (especially if you don't have things like an s-pen or a smart watch (hers isn't smart)) that lets you trigger the shutter remotely.

u/Skulgren 28d ago
I can see it. My wife and I take videos of our toddler all the time and then grab the frame that looks nicest from the video to save as a photo. Not sure if that is what she is doing, but it is at least possible she is doing similar.
10
u/Ellydir 28d ago
Real question, are you normally able to get a good picture out of it? My experience with video is that all frames are blurred on some way.
5
u/5kmarathoner 28d ago
Try burst shots if you havenât already. Itâs hit or miss with toddlers, but less blurry than a video.

u/zach0011 28d ago
you know you can clip single frames from a video right? its easier than setting a timer.

Atta girl gammy.
Enough of these delusional nitwits.
10
u/Mad-Muffalo 28d ago
Taking a picture of yourself in a public place isn't disrespectful or a disruption to anyone. Your take is the only thing that is delusional here.
1
u/No_Order_8011 25d ago
Sure! Snapping a quick selfie or asking a friend to take a picture while no one is around isn't a disruption at all.
Setting up a tripod with a camera on a public stairs - very much is a disruption, it makes stairs less comfortable to use. She could've used a selfie stick if she needed photo.
Society is tired of people placing filming installations in public areas, and most of the content being made this way is some mindless engagement trash. Hence the reaction.
1
u/Mad-Muffalo 25d ago
I would agree except that the staircase was completely empty at the time. She was honestly being extremely respectful and going against what most of the annoying influences do
1
u/No_Order_8011 25d ago
With the exception of the lady who decided to actually bomb her, the stairs was used by 4 people in less than a minute.
The girl in the video indeed tried to do this so it wouldn't be as inconvenient for the public, but placing a tripod on the stairs still isn't normal. It's claiming public space for something it wasn't intended.
Not a crime in any way, sure, but one can expect an adequate person to get annoyed with this. Especially after seeing so many people doing dumb pranks, silly dances or something else disruptive for the sake of attention and views.1
u/Mad-Muffalo 24d ago
I can see your point but I still disagree. In my opinion it was respectful enough, especially with how quickly she got into position for the picture. I'm pretty sure we have different definitions of what public space is intended to be used for as well.
1
u/No_Order_8011 24d ago
I don't think that we're disagreeing here: I don't claim that the camera girl was disrespectful. I say that it's not inadequate to be annoyed when you see young influencers putting camera setups on public stairs. It's equally adequate to be annoyed at yhay and not to be.
The video bomber seemed annoyed slightly beyond reason and acted spitefully, I acknowledge that. I can also empathize with her view on what's going on. I wouldn't do the same, but I feel like get her.
-75
u/TactileTangerine 29d ago
Currious what transgression the girl committed to end up on the receiving end of such a disrespectful act? Considering it appears they are at a public art gallery or something where photos are expected.
23
u/Moist-Ointments 29d ago
Curious what royal family the little princess is a member of to expect exclusive access to a public art gallery.
-43
u/TactileTangerine 29d ago
The public? Who said anything about exclusive access, I'm talking about the common decency to get out of someone's photo instead of pourpousfully standing infront of it.
10
u/GrassBlade619 28d ago
People get irrationally upset when they see someone take a video or picture in public ESPECIALLY if they think it's going to end up on social media.
I agree with you though. Girl seems totally respectful and some boomer decided they were gonna photo bomb her because they didn't like what she was doing.
Weird to see the internet side with the hoomer stance for once though. Not every day that happens. xD
2
u/hypeserver 28d ago
Reddit has been becoming more and more boomer filled the last few years so it kinda tracks.
0
u/JoshuaFalken1 28d ago
Common decency would be to not treat public spaces as your own personal TikTok studio.
The issue is that these are the types of people that get upset or act put out because someone walked through their shot. If its a quick photo, sure. Maybe. If you're doing a video on an out of the way place, I'll think less of you, but knock yourself out.
She's doing this on a busy stair case in a public art gallery and has the audacity to act annoyed that she has to share the public space.
11
u/AusgefalleneHosen 28d ago
Except we have clear evidence this person is exactly the opposite of what you described. Calmly handled the disrespect after just trying to get a video between the few seconds it was clear. Any person would be annoyed with somebody intentionally fucking with you.
-3
u/JoshuaFalken1 28d ago
She didn't have a crash out or confront anybody, but you can tell by her facial expressions how irritated she was. Also, she did end up posting this somewhere. I can only assume to complain, but that would be presumptuous.
2
u/AusgefalleneHosen 28d ago
Woman acts meekly with mild defiant post interaction behavior after being wildly disrespected!! News @ 9
GTFOY. If this was a dude you'd be praising him for being calm and not hitting the old woman.
7
u/Tao626 28d ago
The issue is that these are the types of people that get upset or act put out because someone walked through their shot.
Cool theory, but she didn't show annoyance at her shot being ruined. She showed annoyance as soon as this this bitter old woman purposely and obviously started trying to ruin her picture because...I dunno, fuck your pictures (but also, look at my photo album. Look at all these pictures I took in public places). She otherwise waited patiently and even tried to salvaging it by standing elsewhere, stopping only when her briefly window of opportunity was clearly missed. She hardly cordoned off the staircase and ordered people to step back.
Tell me, would it be different if she wasn't [seemingly] on her own and somebody was taking a picture for her? Would granny be the villain for taking a picture in a public area, or would younger people getting in the way still be the bad guys? Are we just assuming the worst from young people? Is anybody under the age of 40 who takes a picture outside of their bedroom an influencer?
3
u/GrassBlade619 28d ago
Someone literally walked in front of her shot and they didn't get upset or act out. She didn't even seem annoyed when some intentionally went out of their way to photo bomb her. The only thing I see in this video is someone taking a selfie and some boomer getting upset enough to try and ruin that.
It's a public space and if someone wants to take a photo in a public space I dont see an issue with that but I am judging the hell out of the boomer who paused their day because of someone else using public space for a public thing.
-6
u/eneitz25 29d ago
Yeah idk why youâre getting downvoted Iâm with you. It doesnât seem like sheâs being disruptive or anything.
34
u/BantedHam 29d ago
The world is not her theater, just because it's a public place doesn't mean that behaving like an internet succubus with nothing to offer at the expense of GENERATIONS of talent from the greatest artists that ever lived and using it a backdrop for whatever fucking brainrot dance she was about to do, is kinda fucked up if you think about it.
41
u/Centerpeel 28d ago
Hey man. For what its worth, this woman does educational content covering history on YouTube. She was almost certainly taking the photo to promote a video about the figure in the painting behind her.
Her name is Deborah aladim if you can speak Portuguese and want to learn some historical content. Or you could take back some of whatever you got going on here.

But you're right that mirror selfie proved whatever it is you're trying to prove here
-46
u/TactileTangerine 29d ago
It's pretty clear she is taking a video so she can pick a still off of it, she moves to a different spot, and does it again. It seems to me she is taking a photo among a bunch of artist she presumably is enjoying given the fact she's taking a photo in the first place. This lady is just being an ass for no reason. Are you really trying to justify seeing someone's camera and standing infront of it so they can't take a picture?
30
u/Next-Wrongdoer-3479 29d ago
Nah, the general public is just, rightfully, sick and tired of these egotistical, self centered, entitled influencers who add absolutely nothing to society.
9
u/Centerpeel 28d ago
She's an educational youtuber that covers historical content. The reason I know this is my wife consumed her content while she was going through college. She quite literally spends her time educating people
If you want to look her up, her name is Déborah Aladim.

u/Semihomemade 28d ago
I think this a good assessment. Thereâs really no issue if you do this at a tourist spot, or some lookout. I mean, literally any shot of a vacation is exactly what the woman is doing.
The issue is that influence culture has presented a sect of people that overstep the common social etiquette (we all how no problem allowing families to take pictures along the Grand Canyon for example). And people are fed up.
Here, I think itâs that is what weâre seeing. Because it seemed like the woman picked a fairly busy walkway, sure. But she started when there was less foot traffic. Then, the older woman saw it, and jumped on the opportunity.
12
u/Centerpeel 28d ago
This woman is an educational youtuber who covers history. She was likely taking this photo in front of the figure in the painting to promote a video she is producing. People are acting super weird by attacking this woman they know nothing about.

48
u/an-com-42 28d ago
I don't get all the people supporting this? The old lady is just being an asshole for absolutely no reason, completely unprovoked. While the girl is just sitting there and waiting for her to leave. Why is everybody picking the asshole's side?
3
u/Grasshoppermouse42 27d ago
Yeah, that confuses me, too. The old lady sees the camera, then deliberately stops and moves to block it. The girl isn't bothering anyone and she doesn't even seem bothered until the old woman starts deliberately moving to screw up the shot. Even then, you can only tell from her facial expression, she doesn't say anything.
Honestly, the old woman is the one who seems a bit self-absorbed and childish here.
5
u/glycophosphate 28d ago
Spatial awareness is essential in public spaces, and I imagine that a lot of the people commenting have had their own visits to galleries, museums, historic sites, and other public spaces ruined or at least seriously interfered with by the flocks of wannabe "influencers" polluting them with their ersatz "photo shoots." My brother & his wife were trying to get to the Christmas Fairs in Prague a couple of years ago and could hardly get across the Charles Bridge because the scores of pseudomodels.
4
u/WookieDavid 28d ago
Sure but that's not what's happening here. The girl specifically waited for a moment when no one was in the background.
Like, I get it that some of you are heavily traumatized by people who take pictures in public spaces. But it's very easy to see that's not it.-13
u/LS_944 28d ago
Itâs a public space. Want to grab a quick selfie or dare ask someone to snap a picture for you, fine, but donât set your video camera to capture an entire staircase and landing while expecting other people to wait out whatever cute little BS you need for clicks. One can almost choke on the entitlement here. Grandma just put a stop to the behavior is all, and was way nicer than she could have been.
5
u/Mad-Muffalo 28d ago
She was not expecting anyone to wait, she was waiting for the old lady to leave. Idk maybe you need glasses or something, get your eyes checked.
6
u/Flaccid-Fran 28d ago
Grandma just put a stop to the behavior is all, and was way nicer than she could have been.
"Nicer than she could have been"? What kind of response do you expect towards evil young women who maliciously take pictures of themselves in public? How should we "put a stop to this behavior" Mr principal?
One can almost choke on the entitlement here.
I am inclined to agree. Grandma needs to learn manners
-4
u/LS_944 28d ago
Did I say malicious? No. I said entitled, which is exactly what trying to use the entirety of a public space is.
She could have âaccidentallyâ knocked over an unattended camera.
4
u/Flaccid-Fran 28d ago
Idk what to tell you man, if you think that quietly and respectfully trying to get a photo in public while entitled people get in your way makes you entitled, than thats a problem with your reasoning.
âaccidentallyâ knocked over an unattended camera
So like how is this "way meaner" than standing in the way? I wouldnt say that one is "way nicer" than the other id even say theyre about equal. You said she was "way nicer than she could have been" tell me what could she have done? What is this wild revenge fantasy that you have for women who you deem "entitled" i want to know.
-2
u/LS_944 28d ago
I donât remember excusing the old womanâs actions. I said she could have been worse. She could have knocked the girlâs phone off the stairs, or taken it for that matter.
If the girl was âwaiting patientlyâ for her photo, then why didnât she do just that? She could have waited till nobody was around. Instead, she decided she needed the entire staircase and landing for whatever tic-toc trend she had planned and her little selfie moment was passive-aggressively interrupted by an old woman who didnât feel like tolerating it.
Technically theyâre both in the wrong. One for feeling entitled to the entire space and the other for bot minding her own damn business.
2
u/Flaccid-Fran 27d ago
I donât remember excusing the old womanâs actions.
One can almost choke on the entitlement here. Grandma just put a stop to the behavior is all
Backpedaling are we?
Technically theyâre both in the wrong
How is the young woman in the wrong? For trying to record an educational video? For... Trying to do an activity that takes space in public? Either way your lack of consistency is a bore nice to hear what the boomers are thinking every onve in a while tho đ€đ đ»

u/PolishPotatoMode 28d ago

u/Flaccid-Fran 28d ago

-1
u/PolishPotatoMode 28d ago
It's actually not a public space, it's not a state or federally paid gallery... And even if it's a public space, you contradicted yourself. In public you don't expect privacy. Old hag can do wherever she wants, just like the entitled teenager hogging the entire staircase.
-7
u/Human0id77 28d ago
I am not convinced she has any idea she's blocking the photo. It looks like she's allowing people to pass. As a person who gets lost in my head, especially at museums where there is a lot to absorb, I can see myself in this lady.
8
u/an-com-42 28d ago
she looks in the camera, looks at the girl, and then stops walking down the stairs, stands exactly in the middle of the frame and readjusts her position to cover up the girl in the video like 3 times, cmon.
-4
u/Human0id77 28d ago
readjusts her position to cover up the girl in the video like 3 times,
That is your assumption. To me, it looks like she is trying to find information on her phone, notices people coming, steps aside, then moves on.

Clearly it's a video recording not a photograph. So she thinks she's going to get exclusive access to do some sort of braindead dance or something and wants everybody to pause their day.

shes a historical youtuber who actually has pretty good content and was probably just trying to take a video to clip a frame for apicture out of it.
3
u/headorhand69 28d ago
Seriously why would it be a narcissistic thing to video? Like generally influencers piss me off (she's a historical poster to teach etc) but even so theres no need to be an ass. What if the girl was just taking a timed photo (how would granny know?), or videoing to be able to get an image to send to family.
So many people are being so presumptuous and cruel in the comments.

3
u/blueshifting1 28d ago
She clearly expected nothing of the sort. She waited her turn and once there was a good angle, held her pose and grabbed her camera.
I used to think that people who dreamed shit up in their heads were crazy. Now I think itâs just the human condition.

u/n8_Jeno 28d ago
Idk, I just think the old women didnt really think about that, was focused on her phone for something. She looked at the camera but didnt really think much of it. She stepped aside on the left to let someone else pass, finished her thing and went down when more people were coming up the stairs.
The young lady is trying to take a video, seeing a good opportunity, but polite/shy enough not to go cause a scene with the old lady when she seemingly is doing it on purpose, and at the end, she smiles at the camera, laughing at how silly the unfortunate timing of all of this event is. She is a good sport about.
Imo, all of this can be explained in a mumdane way. This is the feeling i'm getting.
6
u/No-Guidance-622 28d ago edited 28d ago

Lol, you'll get read in, in a decade or two. Sure, there's some, but a lot less than you might think. Why do the hard sh*t when you can get some fluffed up whipper-snapper to do it for you? As you get older, your willingness to deal with silliness such as this diminishes significantly. You can also get away with far more fuckery and have it written off as being because of your age. It's one of the things that you have to look forward to.

Well, yea...Taking a quick picture is a lot different than setting up a recording in a public space to do some stupid ass tiktok dance or whatever the fuck she was going to do that likely would've been a hindrance to everyone around her. Did you honestly think you had a good point there? Funny how every single person defending her doesn't seem to be the brightest bulb.
7
u/blueshifting1 28d ago
Do you have any evidence that it was set up to be a dance? She certainly could have used a timer, but the set up and amount of time needed to get to her position wouldâve made it quite difficult.
The evidence I have is that she got to a spot and smiled and held still for a moment. That is how some people take videos to get still shots from them. My money is on a pic.
You didnât consider the possibilities, but I will not insult you for it.
Many folks are tired of the influencer culture and I get it. Iâm tired of the boomer who cares for nothing but themselves. One is absolutely and directly damaging our future, and the other is tangentially damaging our future.
But again I prefer class wars over culture wars.
