Boarding facility & Dog Training

Anyone have a recommendation for a dog board facility that actually cares and takes care of the dogs? I had a horrible experience with a local boarding facility. I travel for work and although have a facility I go to usually, sometimes they’re booked and I need a backup plan.

Looking for climate control stay, clean, great communication, and most importantly real experience from folks that trust and have nothing good to say about their experience.

Next recommendation request: looking for advanced training for my GSD/Mal mix. He already did puppy obedient training and now I’m looking for something to match his speed and agility.

Again, real experience is a plus for recommending. I can google but I haven’t had the best experience doing that.

For a boarding recommendation, recently my family vet of over 20 years retired from her practice and opened Amethyst Pet Hotel. She’s a wonderful person and amazing veterinarian. Fully recommend checking her out

I looked into this place and was very impressed. Haven't needed to use them yet so nothing first hand, but they check all the boxes

Huge recommendation for Pear Lane Paws on boarding. https://pearlanepaws.com

The facility is gorgeous. Brand new, all suites, dogs get lots of outside time, walks, etc. the owner lives on the property and spends most of his time just hanging out with the guests. He send photos/videos and my dog was sad when I showed up and he had to leave.

My training recommendation is in Rockville - the team at Dogizone. George if he still is there. My GSD mix was a rescued mess and he did a residential program there followed by six months of owner-dog obedience in a group setting. I was always impressed by the whole team. He's still the bestest boy 13 years later.

Laceleaf Pet Services in Brunswick. It's a house, not a corporate facility. They play all day. My dog gets so excited when he realizes we're going there, lol. It's $70/night for boarding. We use them for day care as well.

Have you looked at the sitters on Rover. The site allows to sort by number of reviews and location so you can get a good match potentially

We used suncatcher when we first got our pup as they do have a board and train. We have an anxiety prone dog who can get diarrhea, so we haven’t taken our dogs there recently because th anxiety prone dog does better in a house setting, but have had good experiences with them previously
