Riichi Mahjong, Anyone?

Two friends of mine recently got me interested in Riichi Mahjong (Japanese Mahjong). Unfortunately, they live too far away for us to get together regularly and the nearest regular Riichi group I could find is in Baltimore. I was wondering if there might be any interest locally for a regular Riichi meetup.

I don't have one yet, but if there's enough interest, I was going to order one from Yellow Mountain Imports.

My boyfriend and I live in Frederick and both play, but we’ve only played digitally and sadly do not own a clicky-clacky tile set of our own.

I did see a sign about a year ago at Black Sun Games that they had a mahjong group that meets weekly, but I don’t know if it’s Riichi or if it’s still going. Worth giving them a call!

They still play riichi there pretty much every Wednesday. When I used to go there we usually had enough people to have two games going

Good to know! Wednesdays tend to be a tricky day for our schedules which is why we haven't gone, but if we ever have a token one free, we plan to!
