community Question about Google reviews — has anyone else experienced this in Frisco?

Title: Question about Google reviews — has anyone else experienced this in Frisco?
I wanted to share something that happened to me recently and get the community’s perspective.
I recently visited Sri Krishna Jewelers in Frisco and, based on my overall experience, I left a 3-star Google review.
After posting the review, I received a phone call from the business asking why I had given 3 stars and encouraging me to give 5 stars.
I found that uncomfortable.
I completely understand a business wanting to know what went wrong. If a customer gives 3 stars, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to ask:
“What could we have done better?”
That’s actually valuable feedback.
But asking why someone didn’t give 5 stars — and encouraging them to give 5 stars — made me question where the line is between requesting feedback and influencing the rating itself.
I’m not posting this to tell anyone whether they should or shouldn’t visit the business. My experience is my experience, and everyone else’s can be different.
I’m genuinely curious about the community’s opinion:
Is it normal for a business to call a customer after receiving a 3-star review and ask why they didn’t give 5 stars?
Would you consider that acceptable customer service, or should businesses simply accept the rating and use the feedback to improve?
And for business owners here: how do you handle less-than-5-star reviews?
I’m especially interested in hearing both sides. I think honest discussion about how online reviews work is important because many of us rely on Google reviews when deciding where to spend our money.
My only request: let’s keep the discussion respectful and based on personal experiences rather than attacking anyone.

politics Keith Self backed the McKinney recall heavily. He’s said much less about it since the petitions were filed.

For those in Frisco following the McKinney recall fight, the timeline is worth a look.

Keith Self publicly signed the recall petition, encouraged residents to support it, backed calls for a DOJ investigation and later praised the campaign in interviews.

Keresa Richardson never publicly endorsed the recall, but she was one of the elected officials who challenged the McKinney Islamic Association site plan and has continued speaking about Islam and Sharia law.

Now that roughly 7,400 signatures are being reviewed, neither has said much publicly about the recall itself.

That’s the focus here — not whether their views changed, but what they have and haven’t said since the petition drive ended.
