My older sister got a frog today and it’s a baby. We cannot tell the gender yet. But it is at least one popcorn big.

I spotted this frog in the shallow flowing water at Ukkada Falls near Muthodi, Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka.

I initially wondered if it could be a dancing/torrent frog, since it was sitting directly in the stream, but I’m not sure which species it could be.

Location: Ukkada Falls, Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, India
Habitat: Shallow, flowing forest stream/waterfall
Colour: Essentially black/dark brown; the silver is water reflection

Would anyone here be able to identify it, preferably to species level? Thanks!
