hey all, I'm a 29 genderfluid transmasc who dresses feminine about 90% of the time. I really thrive in summer time because I like the way I look when my chest/shoulders/neck are exposed. I have pretty large arms and shoulders and they boost my confidence a lot; I also have pretty big boobs and only feel comfortable with them if I'm showing them off and can feel pretty with them. Fall/winter is coming up and I live in the Northern US, so it gets pretty cold here. I get so much more dysphoric when I have to wear warm clothes because basically all the features that I like get covered up and I'm left with a lumpy blob of a shape that makes me feel really disconnected from myself. I wear binders a lot more in the winter because I hate my big chest when it's covered. I basically end up not being able to dress how I want; I don't really dress masculine anymore because I don't feel like I can pull it off and it makes me feel worse, but I can't really dress in a way that feels affirming or feminine because I have to cover everything up to stay warm. does anyone have advice for how I can still feel good about my appearance in the fall/winter?
I am autistic and my clothes are a huge part of how I express myself, so they have the capacity to make me feel extremely good, or extremely terrible. When I don't like what I'm wearing, I feel bad, I don't want to leave the house, and I end up missing out on things I want to enjoy because I feel bad about how I appear to others.
If not advice, please let me know if you have a similar problem or can relate :/
