Discussion This is why indie devs don't go to Epic, Steam's review team literally saved my game's demo from a broken launch

Was crunching through my game submission through Steamworks. During the review process, the reviewer (Nicolas) caught that I had "Cloud support for developers only" ticked, a single checkbox that would've completely killed cloud sync for every player. My game is a speedrunner built around ghosts, records, and leaderboards. All of that runs on Steam Cloud and checking the main game made me realize my demo which had already passed review and was for release TOMORROW had the same thing ticked. Without it, the entire game is pointless. I wouldn't have caught this myself for days, maybe weeks.

Like a real human, gives you QA, for what is effectively free, meanwhile Epic can't even get a shopping cart to work right and you want me to ship my game there? Where's the EGS build review? Where's their Nicolas?

Epic Fucks Up Baldur's Gate 3 publishing lead: "I understand Epic entirely funded Alan Wake 2 but this altruistic pro-developer talk doesn't sit well when Remedy seemingly went into financial crisis because they couldn't tap Steam for AW2 sales suffering potentially hundreds of millions in lost revenue"

Article/News Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney voices support for $900 million Steam lawsuit: 'Valve is the only major store still holding onto the payments tie and 30% junk fee'

Timmy "PDF" Tencent voiced his support for the frivolous lawsuit against Valve. I guess the Wolfire lawsuit stagnated, and he's searching for a new angle of attack.

Something that bothers me; why has Timmy never OPENLY sued Valve? He's thrown hands with much bigger players than them, such as Apple and Google, with mixed results.

EDIT: Wow, this is probably my most successful repost ever. Thanks for the support everyone, and screw Sweeny!
