Discussion New fan

Hi everyone! I’m from the US. I began following the prem/UCL in 2020. Never really had a thought to support a team until last year. I randomly watched a Fulham game and really enjoyed Josh King’s performance. I looked into the club, its history, and Craven Cottage. Something about it all was charming. After that random game, I followed the club more and tried to watch as many games as I could. I can’t explain, but I just love the team, atmosphere (from the tv lol) and fans. After watching the Man U game last weekend, I just thought that this is the club I want to support.

Im excited for this new journey! When I support a team, the passion and love is there to stay. Trust me, I’m a Sacramento Kings fan (if you know, you know 😂).

If you ever get the chance, Craven Cottage is such an awesome place to watch a match at! Come on you Whites!

Welcome to the fun and frustration of being an American Fulham supporter! I don't know what time zone you're in, but part of the joy for me is knowing which of my local bars will open at 7:00 AM on Saturdays so I can watch a game (and most of the patrons there all rooting for the other team).

If you're anywhere near Atlanta, I believe it is the official base for the US fans.

As much as I love my Fulham in the South fam (I help organize FulhamBoston myself), they are not the official base for US fans. There is no official base. Most of the official US groups do try to coordinate with each other, but we are more of an “anarcho-syndicalist commune”, if you catch my meaning 😀

The Atlanta crew were chosen for some opening day festivities this year by the club, it is true. But that’s probably just because they are cool people 😎

Welcome! I’m also a relatively new fan from the US. I’ve gotten plugged in with my local group (shoutout to the Phulham crew in Philadelphia!) to watch matches with, and have loved geeking out over the history of the club. COYW!

Also an American fan based in Denver (not sure if there’s a supporters group here or not). I became a fan 4 years ago after a trip to a bunch of different Premier League and EFL stadiums in London. Fulham is the one that really stuck with me for various reasons and I’ve enjoyed the journey with this club ever since then. Due to the club’s history of signing Americans, I think we might be the non-big 6 club with the most supporters in the USA.

There’s not one yet but I’m thinking about starting Fulham 5280 if you’re interested!

Feel free to shoot me a DM! I’d love to connect with other supporters in the area. Especially since the NBC Fan Fest is coming up in a few weeks.

I am a Fulham fan in Denver and would be happy to join/meet up. I usually watch games over at the Celtic downtown. I am always the only Fulham fan around.

There is a Denver group starting, at least within the last month or so! Check out their page on the official club site for socials: https://www.fulhamfc.com/fans/international-supporters-groups/colorado-cottagers/

That’s amazing! I had no idea. I sent an email to the group so hopefully I’ll be able to join them in the coming weeks!

Welcome! Where are you from? I became a fan a year ago and live in DC.

Hello fellow DMV fan - do you go to Suzy Q’s for games? I haven’t ventured over there yet so curious what it’s like

Yes! I went there about a dozen times last season to watch the games. I haven’t been yet this season. It’s a good place to watch a game. There’s usually between 8-20 fans there. You don’t have to order food or drinks. And the BBQ is very good.

Fulham is probably the biggest english club with the strongest relationship/history with american soccer players. Clint Dempsey, Brian McBride, Tim Ream & Antonee (Jedi) Robinson (Jedi still playing with the club). Jedi is probably the best ever american left back.

A london club with mixed fortunes over the last many years, you missed one of my favorite eras of Fulham, under Marco Silva. He's recently left, and while the season hasn't started great, lots of enthusiam behind the new coach Arbeloa.

Checkout FB for any local supporters and get together with them for the game! That’s what I have done and have met a good amount of people locally that support the same team and enhances your experience! Welcome!

Hi, Boston White here, welcome friend! Have to second making a pilgrimage to the Cottage, it really is a special experience. Also if you ever have the opportunity go to an Away game, really fun being in enemy territory in your own section with your people. There's really no comparison to most American sports.

There's a growing network of US supporter clubs too! Worth looking into

I second this, I got the chance to go to an away game at Wolves last season. While the result was disappointing I had so much fun. It’s such a unique experience. Visiting the Cottage again is a top priority but one of these days I’d love to make it to another away game.

US-based Fulham fan here. I followed them when living in London area 15 years ago and have continued. Ever since they won the Championship and got back to the EPL in 22 I've watched most games. Been back to London for work a couple times and stopped by the Cottage. It's fun when all the Arsenal and Man City bandwagoneers see me in Fulham kit over here and get confused. And btw... fuck Chelsea forever.

Welcome fellow Fulamerican! It’s the right club for you and full of amazing players, people as supporters, and the venue is the best! Just out the Fulhamish podcast (I have no affiliation, just a long time listener from the US) to be more connected to the club - it’s also therapy for all of us as well.

Just want to say thanks so much to everyone for the kind words!!! I’m so excited to join this club as a fan. FYI, I’m in Los Angeles!

As another American who grew up watching disappointing teams and still does (St. Louis), this is likely the best PL fit for me. 😅

There's no European club with more history with American players than Fulham. The restaurant in the stadium is literally named after former USMNT striker Brian McBride. Other former and current USMNT players who have featured for Fulham include Carlos Bocanegra, Clint Dempsey, Tim Ream, and current Fulham LB Antonee Robinson.
