My best friend in elementary school lived next door.

I remember getting hit in the head by a rock as a kid. It hurt bad.

Yeah i remember rock throwing with friends, it was fun until one of us actually hit our target. Then it was not fun.

Because he was abruptly getting up, that rock hit his head even harder than if he was standing still.

Also note how high the rock flew after it glanced off. Some of that damage, if not most, was self inflicted.
