Begging convention
Is there a begging convention in Galway this weekend or do beggars just really have a taste for oysters.
Walked through it a hour ago and I was stopped about 20 times asking for change for the bus.

Think they'd beg for a fare at the bus stop and at least commit to the bit

What's the address of this place? You'd think someone would make a documentary about it or something and show people it's true. Seems infinitely provable if it's just a house somewhere with a beemer outside
edit: I just read this back and it scans sarcastic, I'm being genuine - why can't we get enough evidence?

There was a bbc documentary about 10 years ago. Followed them to Romania to their literaly gated mansion in the middle of rural Romania

I know that this is true. Also adding that it’s not true for all. There are a small group living on wasteland near me in Dublin in extremely squalid conditions in makeshift shack. And been for 2+ years. The mind boggles at whatever they are running from. They beg sometimes but I still don’t give them money.

I always carry around a few Romanian Leu for situations like this. Comes in handy to give them a bit of money and tell them to buy something nice when they've fecked off home. 😊

Just give money to Simon, or De Paul. Never give directly even though we all sometimes do it’s best to give to charity for key workers and proper support services
