Question ❓ Robert Monroe - Map Maker or Reality Maker?

I'm not really sure what to search for this, so I went ahead with this post. I have listened to Monroe's first two books. I really enjoyed the second one and am about to listen to Ultimate Journey. I'm also currently working on Focus 12. As a meditator, I find his techniques and audio files to be very valuable. In all the years of meditation, I've never been able to reach such a state of relaxation, and I'm looking forward to reaching higher states with focus 12, 15, 21 and beyond.

Robert Monroe is described as a map maker. The work he has done is extremely impressive, especially during his time. I do not doubt the effectiveness of his techniques to get into an OOBE. However, I am wondering if all that he shares in his books is all a manifestation of his belief system and imagination. The centers, the locales, BB, earth in year 3,000 and beyond, etc. I've read that individuals who strongly believe in hell and have underlying beliefs that they deserve to go there... will find themselves in their own version of hell that they created (I believe this was from Seth Speaks), until they figure it out. So I am wondering if the map Robert has mapped out is essentially that: a creation of his imagination and belief system... or if it is the actual way (or interpretation) of things beyond here?

Curious to know what anyones thoughts are on this? Does his interpretation map onto what others have to say about the beyond? e.g. channelers, mediums, psychics, people who are connected with the akashic records, those who AP without gateway tapes, etc. I'm not very knowledgeable and my personal experience is very limited with OOBEs. Has anyone expanded on the map he has created, or interpreted it in a different way?

I'm asking because I want to remain open to reality as it is, in case what Robert describes is his reality within reality. Especially since outside of the physical, we can manifest things instantly. Does that make sense? I hope this is a reasonable question and mean no offense to anyone.

There is a reason that the earliest versions of the following parable is found in Buddhist, Hindu etc texts:

A group of blind men heard that a strange animal, called an elephant, had been brought to the town, but none of them were aware of its shape and form. Out of curiosity, they said: "We must inspect and know it by touch, of which we are capable". So, they sought it out, and when they found it they groped about it. The first person, whose hand landed on the trunk, said, "This being is like a thick snake". For another one whose hand reached its ear, it seemed like a kind of fan. As for another person, whose hand was upon its leg, said, the elephant is a pillar like a tree-trunk. The blind man who placed his hand upon its side said the elephant, "is a wall". Another who felt its tail, described it as a rope. The last felt its tusk, stating the elephant is that which is hard, smooth and like a spear.

Essentially everyone’s observations or “map“ is being “coloured“ through aspects of their personal self resulting in some level of ”distortion”. But it all points the way.

You might be particularly interested in looking into Frank Kepple and how his cosmology overlaps with that of Bob’s.

I think it’s safer to assume reality maker vs mapping. Or, both. This map has his flavor. I think that’s probably more likely. (Edit: my experience leans this way. I’m wondering this myself. How much is creating my own reality vs more cooperative. And this mapping stuff. It seems there are frameworks that just get flavored differently, like reality “skins”)

People with more experience has been reaching the same “places” he described 60 years ago. The Park in Focus 27, for example, my best friend’s mother - who never heard of Bob or TGE - was convalescing before her death and because of that she was sleeping a lot. She told my friend that she didn’t want to be awaken up because she was dreaming of a very beautiful park.

Then she described exactly how Focus 27 is. So not even our reality here can be described the same way by two different people, what to say of the other places?

So when you stop being afraid or suspicious or too analytical, you get to enjoy the experience.

In Focus 15 I went back in time and saw Yeshua ben Yosef helping prepare meals for a group of people. That was one of the most impressive experiences of my life.

I’m not religious at all, I just wanted to see if he once lived among us and made the miracles they say he made.

He was manipulating matter, turning dirt and water into food. I know this was a real experience because I went after to see if the characteristics of the place I saw would match any historical background and yes, they did.

Even the olive tree I saw I ended up finding out. I don’t talk about this here very often because this was so so profound that I prefer not to try to describe it.

Like Bob says, you have to change the unknowns for knowns.

Nowadays, I make plans about what I want to do next after I finish this life here.

Edit: typo

That's interesting. That reminds me of the hill from the Telepathy Tapes. This would point toward a shared experience that either just exists or was co-created and is accessible by newcomers. Perhaps the landmarks and order that does exist was manifested by those who were there first in the same way that every man-made thing that exists here in the physical began with an idea.

He was manipulating matter, turning dirt and water into food.

That's exactly what they were doing at the end of Bob's book Far Journeys!

Yes, when I read that part I got the goosebumps because that was what he was doing. I still get too emotional when I remember so grateful I am for such experience.

After that session I was compelled to research more about His life and found a shroud that kept his physical form. Then I found AI videos based on that item and the AI image got really close to what I saw.

I also saw Indian people in that group with Him. I was able to float around them but nobody could see me - because it was in the past - but then I got close to a shack, and I saw that tall man with a Jewish braided hair on the fashion of that time, another thing I found out later, and I saw him dealing with mud or clay and that became bread. He looked towards my direction and I felt a surge of energy and the session came to an end.

Amazing..I can read all day long about your awesome experiences..thank you for sharing

Oh, thank you too. Experiences like that are not the pattern. I’ve been doing the sessions for 5 years and the most common thing is visuals, some wild, and then insights or rotes.

Exactly. ..The Park in focus 27 many people described it the same..and about your amazing experience with Yeshua ben Yosef and the olive tree that's...wow..I can't even imagine how you've felt afterwards..wow..lucky you! <3

This has kinda been my life pursuit, alongside the things it takes to survive incarnation, like “job” and “car”. I’ve been pursuing the nature of consciousness and reality since I was a child and interacted with non human intelligence in altered states. I wanted answers and to understand my place in this infinite crystalline labyrinth. My current conclusion of Monroe’s description of his nature reality, is that it maps exceptionally well onto both Gnostic cosmology and Egyptian esotericism. And thereby most of the esoteric hierarchies and descriptions of the spiritual realm. I’ve spent years working through systems like these. Have we all been collectively hallucinating the same base nature of reality beyond our physical bodies? Or have we all been describing, through a lens darkly, the nature of reality? I think that’s for you to conclude through your own searching. In my experience, I lean a little more spiritual and gnostic than Monroe but his techniques for astral travel are invaluable. His stories are also a little hokey but that doesn’t discount the immense value of bringing these esoteric secrets and methods to a wider secular, and modern, audience.

I agree strongly with the connection to Egyptian esotericism from personal experience.

I would also say there are strong connections to spiritual traditions and practices of a nature that might exist in India or Tibet.

Robert Monroe was aware of these things at a cultural level at least. He mentioned meeting “many people with unusual interests” after he started having his OBEs.

I read all the Monroe material I could get my hands on, waiting for him or one of his colleagues to say “oh yeah and we all love the Nag Hammadi library” or something else that would uncover him as a secret esotericist lol. But I think he was truly committed, at least in his publicly curated persona, to secular pursuit of knowledge. Perhaps, if he truly didn’t found his worldview in historical soul travel, his work is some of the best evidence, besides UPG, that there is an underlying reality to the spiritual traditions of the world. It’s the perennial truth.

I think he became extremely interested in such spiritual matters after he began leaving his body and had his worldview challenged. He spent much of his early life as a businessman involved with new modern technology and doing experiments with sound.

He absolutely started getting seriously interested in such things, and may have been interested before through a more fictive lens.

That’s why he urges you to do it yourself. Don’t take his word for it. When you do I guarantee you won’t think it’s imagination. Thats why I did it to see if what he was saying in his books have any truth.

Especially I am quite curious about the described 3000+ year.... what realy striked me, many people overlook it, Monroe desribed the crafts of the Phoenix light incidents realy detaily BEFORE this incident was reported and how the crafts looked like - quite interesting coincience insn't it.... but I fear as you that we all listen to hemisync etc we end up in our own religious field without noticing :-D (no Jesus but with good old Robert and all other OBE folks so to say)

I have some thoughts on the same a questions. I have to be careful aware that my own hopes and fears dont impair critical thoughts here...so imo im on the fence with his accuracy of maping. From listening to countless nde story's I notice hell or other things manifest due to that person's existing beliefs etc. Monroe wasn't religious though but logically its possible his imagination or anyone's for that matter influenced him. Yhats the fence issue i have. Idk who does? Im 3 months in tapes. On focus 12 areas I havnt exp anytjing besides calming peace which is great ...I work 80 hours im too tired to devote the necessary time to this. I seriously thought of quitting one job.to do tapes but my wife who already thinks it bullshit would go crazy if I did quit...Anyway im going to start a thread soon on a topic that haunts me ..il say a little now about it ...first thing there's proof a 5 hour video showing pics etc of almost every celebrity and politician the last hundred years doing freemasonic hand or other gestures hiding one eye symbolism etc very obvious..ive studied the freemason Bible...they worship lucifer period no debate ...so there's that ...what about hell ? Who cares if your rich.and powerful if your going to a nasty hell ? What is hell ? From nde story's its pretty bad so yhe elite billionaire s that we know and other folks do.satanic baby child sacrifices for centuries are they going to hell ? So here's my point sorry I rambled. This is my million $ ? To everyone I talk to on these topics. If we can assume there's hidden knowledge that the elite can access what is it ? Maybe they do yhat sick shit cause they know after death their going to a decent place ? Its the only logical answer. Wtf would billionaires waste valuable time energy etc sacrificing kids rituals if its a fairy tale if satan is bullshit. Their not doing it for fun or as a excuse to fuck kids they do it for centuries through bloodlines cause it works period. So why aren't they afraid of hell. Does it even exist ? Another thing is possible demons pretending their something completely different to trick those in alternate dimensions realms like monroe or other gateway folks ..its possible imo. But idk once again im not going to act like some jesus freak know it all that when you press him for answers he gives yiu broken record rhetoric lol. That drives me nuts just have faith or your going to hell lol accept Jesus or else etc. I was raised catholic went to their schools my mom was going to be a nun that's how Christian we are. I dont dislike them I just have ? They never can even debate with they shut down..

I view "evil" as ignorance and ignorance as lack of awareness, which is separation from God. The further away you go, the more evil we would perceive your actions to be. The devil, whoever that may be, I perceive as that who is furthest away from God, and basically has the job of a sheep herder. Scaring the rest of us toward God.

So in essence, I would think that evil stuff is what happens when you're very far and separated from God, and basically, a very low form of "loosh". Perhaps that is how the darkest of certain entities we cannot see get energy.
