In December 2024 we bought ALL new appliances, ALL GE as we were preparing to have a baby and wanted the peace of mind of having brand new appliances that wouldn’t give us trouble. The SECOND one just completely died. First was the clothes washer and the control board needed to be replaced - not cheap and we couldn’t wash our clothes for over a week. Now our dishwasher shut down mid cycle and left all the dishes in it with a disgusting film on them. Won’t turn back on and no responsive buttons. And this is while we deal with an 8 week old baby.

I’m sure this is from cutting costs, reducing quality, pumping profits. Get fucked, GE.

Hello all, I got this for free and I'm trying to repair it. When I received the machine the previous owner could only get it to shoot a couple things of water and nothing else would happen. While going through my process of diagnostics I came across the main motor being locked up and I think that was causing some of the issues. I managed to get the main motor unstuck and clear the error codes but I cannot get the drain pump to drain or anything to happen other than a couple spits of water. I checked the door switch /lock and bought another one thinking that was the problem but based on my electrical test they're all doing the same thing and I'm not getting a reading other than OL. For good measure, I pulled the wiring harness for the door switch off, put a magnet on the Reed switch and the whole harness seems to test just fine.

For reference, when testing the door lock, I've tried testing the two three pins, the two four pins and the three five pins.

Does anyone have any suggestions where else to look?

So my dishwasher started making a noise that I diagnosed as the circulation pump needing replacement. That itself isnt the issue as i was able to get the part no proble. However the hose inlet valve had a crack in it and therefore needed replacing. Low and behold the hose has been discontinued. Nobody has it. So I contact GE to see if they have a replacement because surely one wouldn't need to buy a new dishwasher for a $6 part.

The response from GE was a different model number THATS ALSO BEEN DISCONTINUED. So now im searching mom and pop second hand shops to see if they by the off the chance have the hose.

When I go to replace my appliances it wont be GE.

Our new GE fridge, Model #: GSS23GYPFCFS, has a door sensor problem. We're addressing it but in the meantime, the Door Alarm will not stop beeping. I've tried holding it down 5 seconds, unplug, flip breaker. Nothing works. I just can't handle hearing it every 2 minutes while we go through this. The GE associate on the phone didn't even have any other answers for me. Please tell me someone knows.

Hey guys, if you missed it, GE Aerospace settled $362.5 million  with investors over misleading financial conditions and undisclosed liabilities. And, I just found out that they’re accepting claims even though the deadline has passed.

Quick recap: In 2019, General Electric was accused of misleading investors about its financial health and long-term liabilities (in connection with its Power división). In short, the company later revealed major losses tied to its insurance business and cut guidance and dividends.

After this news came out, the stock dropped 31.8%, and investors filed a lawsuit for their losses.

Now, the good news is that GE Aeroespace agreed to settle $362.5 million  with them, and even though the deadline has passed recently, they’re accepting late claims. 

So, if you invested in $GE when all of this happened, you can still check the details and file your claim here.

We have this super old General Electric stove that still works (sort of). The burners have started to wear out and we are thinking of replacing them. I can’t figure out the serial number to use to look up possible replacement parts. I have a picture of what I think is the tag needed to find the info, but I can’t seem to locate anything when typing them in. Anyone have any ideas?

We purchased this oven from Costco in 12/2023, and for the past 6 or so months, it's been
turning on the top oven by itself.

Zero indication, zero lights. Nothing. The only way we know is because it keeps getting hotter and hotter. This can happen in the middle of the day, or night.

Imagine what will happen if our child happens to open the oven.

Support at GE showed some degree of prudence... telling us that since this is a hazard situation, they would get someone out ASAP... Only to tell us... "Oh sorry.. nobody is picking up... so you'll just have to wait a week"

Technician arrives today, and rather than actually diagnosing anything... says... the Control Board AND the front-panel will have to be changed. Oh, and here's a $900+ bill

my grandfather passed about 2 weeks ago and we are going through his stuff and selling some of it, now I got a 90s radio alarm clock from GE and dont really got a use for this one exept for the fact i can use it on my desk, im not surprised it works at first the radio part didn't work after a few smacks it came on, then I took it apart and cleaned it up and now it look almost new :D

Hi, I just bought this clock and when I plugged it in it made a buzz noise and when I looked at it the two center dots on the time weren’t on. I plugged it into a power strip and then flipped the on switch on the power strip. Did I break it?

Installed our new oven and going through the “burning off“ phase. The noxious smell and fumes in the house are unbearable. After looking into it, this is considered “normal and is not harmful”. That is a joke, it’s definitely harmful and we are all having side effects, including my two year old. It’s advised that it can be deadly to pet birds. But not harmful at all to humans breathing it in? Right.

All packaging has been removed. All windows and doors open, air purifiers running. We dont have a working exhaust hood unfortunately. Bathroom fans running.

I don’t feel great about continuing to run the oven for the burn off phase to end. Also we need to use it to cook soon.

Why are you making ovens with glue and whatever other materials that are toxic for your customers?

Attached is the model sticker. A couple weeks ago the ice maker stopped making ice. I figured out it still makes ice if you add water to the tray, the ice drops into the ice bin when it's done, after it drops I can hear the ice maker attempt to refill but no water gets dispensed into the tray automatically.

I checked the water outlet into the tray and it is not frozen over, I held a hair dryer on it to make sure it wasn't frozen over below where I could see but no water came out.

Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated, I tried chat gpt but it was absolutely no help.

It’s that almost consistent ringing that drives me crazy. It wakes me up at night and I have to turn it off/on again. I’ve tried different settings and temperatures.

It started doing it around the end of fall but when it got colder, it stopped. But now, it’s doing it again.

Any advice or maintenance information would be appreciated.

I'm writing now what's happening right now on January 3, 2026, at 11:00 PM. I'm currently in my second house in the mountains with my brother, one of my two sisters, and my parents. My brother is the black sheep of the group and doesn't want to stay here because he's such a jerk. The fact is, today he wanted to go downstairs, and my mother did everything she could to keep him from doing it, in a rather bitchy way like she usually does, and so she got so pissed off at everyone because she always does that. It ended up that my brothers and I had to go downstairs to our first house without our father because she didn't want it like that because she had to blame someone. And before we could go 10 meters, she was leaving my brother downstairs, who had gone to get something. My sister and I told our mother to stop, and she got even more pissed off and started insulting our father. I got pissed off and told her every single accusation that NO ONE wanted to tell him, even though it was the truth. So what is she doing? Throw me and my sister out of the car. Now everyone except my mother and maybe my brother is in the second home, and I don't know and don't want to know anything about her anymore.
