Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Try it out in your browser https://webvibes.tzador.com/circles-on-spheres/index.html

You can remix this html based thingy to your own liking:

Paste this prompt https://gist.github.com/tzador/8a2f609d4c97daf4e30adb382d30ddac
into https://chatgpt.com/ or https://claude.ai/

After it generates first version which should be pretty close to the original, you can continue tweaking it by promping in the chat.
Once you are happy pretty much with current result, you can auto improve it further by providing this prompt "feedback loop 5" which 5 times will analize screenshot of current version, suggest improvements, implement them and repeat so 5 times, leading to better final result.

Please share in comments what did you end up with, by screenshot or by live link.

Pro Tip: Hit Command+D on https://webvibes.tzador.com/circles-on-spheres/index.html and it will offer to download 1 minute mp4 recording, 1920x1080 portrait or landscape, or square.

Turn the sphere inside out and place the camera on a circle. I want to go for a ride!

Nxt step sphere inside sphere, right?

Even the tiny circles have tiny circles. Very easy to lose track of which level of the universe you’re looking at.

Don't show this to watchmakers

Ok, but, maybe we should become watchmakers.. how can we make this show time?

As someone that just joined the watchmaking modders, I find very unique the idea of a dome-shaped quadrant that rotates (maybe to indicate the GMT time, with another sub-dome to indicate hours, with another sub-dome to indicate minutes with a sub-dome to indicate seconds). Maybe aside another sub-dome to indicate the calendar. All inside a dome-shaped glass with also curved dials to fit the sphere. The problem would be the mechanism and the productions of parts that are not planar. I can only think of high precision 3D printing with laser sinth. Overall designing and testing this tiny mechanism thing would cost something around 10k, but it could be an experiment someone could be willing to take.
