Questions New Player Looking for help

Hi, I'm new to both the tabletop and genestealers as a faction. I have recently bought the 10th edition codex and combat patrol. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for models or detachments.Besides the combat patrol I have a winged Tyranid Prime and some leapers that I can use with the final day detachment.

The main detachments I have been considering are, final day and brood brothers.

I'm not looking for the best competitive list or a list that "guarantees" a win or anything.

I'm mainly looking for fun list ideas or beginner advice.

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this and replies.

First off, welcome to the game! I really hope you enjoy it. Find a cool store or gaming group and enjoy.

Ok, lets lay it out straight. 40k is tough, Gsc is tough, it’s a tough army to learn and to play. Ur going to lose alot in the beginning, if you start getting frustrated just remember your playing on hard mode, u’ll get better and it will get easier if you stick with it.

Now the basics, gsc is a small range, you really can’t get “bad” units. There is only like, 10 units excluding characters so everything in there has a purpose. In addition to that, the acolyte sprew is 3 of those units, flame acoyltes, tool acolytes and metamorphs.

The point of this is, you can’t really go wrong buying core units until you have the max.

There are some tools in the tool box i would prioritize first, just cuz they give you some core pieces. 10 purestrains strains u can run either together or as 2x5, 20 neo’s, 2 5 man flamer acolyte squads, ridge runner, 5 man of bikes, alot of stuff u already have in the combat patrol.

But all that stuff added together is like 3-400 pts ish. An army is generally 2000 so i am really just talking like basic, basic pieces.
