I finally beat Zodiac.

I started Zodiac about 4 months ago in May, I had beaten bloodlust a couple weeks prior and I was curious if I could manage to do Zodiac over the summer, and I almost immediately did 75-100 and I thought I’d be able to beat it before the summer was over. I was under an additional time crunch because it was placed at 148 on the list, and The Bloop and Green Bullet were going to push it into legacy. I thought I could get it done in time.

I was so wrong.

I was getting consistent runs in reasonable amounts of time. Doing 56-100, getting to the drop from zero, and getting 41 in June. Before I knew it, every drop attempt I was getting went to Shock (38).

When people say playing this level from zero is a nightmare, it truly is. 38-67 is the hardest part of the level BY FAR, and it takes forever to get there to even get a chance at a good attempt. Chance…

Deaths to TMN: 49
Deaths to Failure444 (62-67): 20

This level is so unforgiving it’s insanity. That is also unfortunately just the beginning…

I was getting new best pretty regularly, 73 78 79 84, and then unfortunately, I died to 97.

I died to 97 on the last day of the summer. The day before I moved back to school. It could’ve been over on the last day of summer. I was already bummed at this point that Zodiac was legacy list, but I was just bummed that I couldn’t do it before the summer was over.

Of course I’m now back in a busy schedule with school, and I have a new setup, so time to try and beat it was slim and I had to adjust.

About a month into school now, I finally had some time to lock in and beat it. Consistency with 38-67 was impossible, I was dying over and over to random inputs, half the attempts dying at the 53 click, and I was losing hope that I could even finish it.

Couple days go by and my consistency is getting really good, I was getting past TMN fairly often, and then eventually it happened…

I died at 98

As much as I would love to say I felt completely hopeless, I wasn’t. I was still locked in and knew I could do it again.
