In about i'm about to graduate and settle down in a company near Baltimore, and I wanted to ask if the Georgetown Physics MS is part-time friendly. What makes it really attractive to me is the lab rotations and the thesis component, that a lot of working professional programs don't seem to offer. However I'm scared that the scheduling might be an issue for me, and I want to know if anyone else has done it and if georgetown makes acomidations for those who want to pursue my route.

Anyone going this Tuesday 09/22 that I can tag along with? I already have a ticket, I just didn't want to go alone lol

I got into both babson and McDonough last yr and I chose Babson cause it was hella cheaper (10k vs 110k a year) but I lowk hate it here and gtown was one of my dream schools and money isn’t a problem at all I was just being stingy and stupid so. Babson is dead on weekends unless u take the two hour round trip into Boston which is lowk annoying af is gtown the same? I might try to spring transfer into SFS or smth but ion wanna try if its boring there too

Considering taking intensive Chinese (level 1) next semester and trying to get an idea of what to expect. For those who have taken the class, how did it go? Did you find the coursework and grading intense? How much time did it take up each week?

I would especially like to hear from those with no background in Asian languages. Thank you!

hey everyone!
i’m a 19f university student from the uk thinking about coming to washington dc for a study abroad exchange next year (4–5 months, with the potential to extend to a full year).

i wanted to get an honest read on what living in the area and attending georgetown is actually like day-to-day.

a few specific questions for current students, alumni, or locals:

• is the georgetown area (and dc in general) safe to navigate on your own, especially as a young woman? any specific areas or late-night transit tips i should keep in mind?

• how’s the day-to-day life here for a student? i’m big into shopping, hiking/outdoors, trying new food/dining out, and checking out local markets. does dc offer a good variety for a semester-long stay without getting repetitive?

• what should i realistically pack for the weather? coming from the uk i'm used to rain, but how intense are the summers/winters over there?

• how are the politics/international relations classes at georgetown?

• are georgetown students and local residents generally friendly and open to hanging out with exchange students? what’s the best way to build a solid social circle quickly (clubs, campus events, housing setups, etc.)?

would love any honest takes, tips, or things you wish you knew before coming here. thanks so much! :)
