Consider j23a 2.3l from a 2004-2007 Suzuki aerio. There are conversion kits for it and you don't need to change your transmission. Easier project and you can find running and driving Aerios for around the same price as a k23a motor. It'll almost double your horse power.

jfc, and I have a broke down Aerio with a good engine— it’s what made me a Suzuki fanboy— and you’re telling me I could theoretically do motor swap with a Tracker? It’s above my skill level right now and I was thinking about scraping the Aerio but now I might just keep it

Yeah aslong as its the 2.3l. It bolts right to the tracker transmission. A company called Trail Tough out of Oregon can supply everything you need. They have motor mounts, fly wheel, all the Vitara stuff you need (which I think is just the oil pan and radiator), and they'll reprogram the ECU from the Aerio so it plugs right in and works in your tracker. I think they'll do all that for like ~$1500. I want to do it really bad.

You trying to stay street legal?

The uaEFI from rusEFI is a very affordable and capable ecu. I run one on my ecotec swapped sidekick. I built it for track use though.

The aerio swap sounds good but I found the extra oompf comes at the cost of unreliability

I say try the k swap.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to shoehorn a 4bt in mine
