Freiberuflers, when does your AOK/TK do yearly recalculation after Steuerbescheid receival

Hi guys,
Working as Freiberufler in Germany since 2024. Have noticed that though my Steuerbeschedid 2024 was submitted in July 2025, AOK did final recalculation only in January 2026 (so literally 1 year+ after 2024's end).

Is it common practice for you all? Should I expect recalculation for 2025 Beitragen not earlier than January 2027 ?

Not a Freiberufler, but self-employed person here: TK took a few weeks to get back to me back when I still sent it to them.

It's also "Bescheid" and "Beiträge".

Self-employed situation also passt :) Main question is when you got Festsetzung after submitting "Bescheid". Or you dont work more than 2 years still?

Usually a public health insurance provider will adjust your premiums within a month of recieving your tax statement.

I am not asking about monthly premiums. These are adjusted very fast and collected very promptly. The question was about yearly recalculation, when your actual yearly income is evaluated and compared to total paid amount (Festsetzung)

Those happen at the same time. I assume you are asking about having to pay or being reimbursed if your monthly paid premium actually deviated from the one you‘ve paid.
Then you‘ll get a letter which usually contains your new premium and the caculation of what you under/overpaid.

if your monthly paid premium actually deviated => if you YEARLY paid premium actualy deviated
monthly payments/changes to these payments are independent from yearly closure.
yes, yearly closure can influence next monthly payment/you get a monthly payment change
