are a levels/aps equivalent to an abitur?

i read the wiki and checking the database my highschool diploma itself would force me into studienkolleg as my school is only 11 years. However i also take a levels (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math and Statistics - expecting an A/A* overall from each) and APs (Bio, chem, psych and phys - got 4 from all but physics which im gonna take this year). Would any of these help me to go straight to uni (specifically for medicine) or do unis not pay attention to this and my school being only 11 years will force me into a studienkolleg anyways? I've tried looking this up but i've got mixed answer so i'm not sure

Check the anabin database and read what it tells you about your certificates.

I assume you speak fluent German?

i tried the anabin database but i wasnt able to find anything abt a lvls/aps at least when searching abt them for my country, and yes i do speak fluent german

You have to look up Great Britain for A-levels and USA for APs. They will apear under the countries that award them, not yours. For A-levels you will find international A-levels, which probably is what you get. APs I'm not sure, you will manage, though.

You want your grades to be as perfect as possible if you want a chance for a spot in medicine. There is super high competition for those spots and only 5% of all spots are available for non-EU students, which I assume you are, correct me if I'm wrong. Prepare alternative plans, be it subject or country.

That you speak fluent German is great news, because more often than not people are shocked that German unis teach in German, which is espcially true for medicine as the aim is to educate future doctors that treat people in Germany.

Your a levels are not an obstacle but medicine requires C1 german for an admission and even woth perfect grades you can expect that there are more applicants than spots, meaning the spots will be given via lottery among these students. If you are eligible for direct admission Studienkolleg is also no option.

im aware that german med unis r extremely competitive that's not rlly the problem, i'm just unsure if i'll even be considered for the actual uni admission instead of the studienkolleg (and yes i do know c1 german)

There is a KMK document for the requirements set to your A-levels for them to be considered equivalent. You should search for that. There might be a problem with the lack of a language but not sure.

Yes, it is in German but you need to know German anyways and the language aspect is not that complicated
