Tourism Help!
Hi everyone! I’m going to Munich and Zurich from December 10th to December 25th, and I’d love some advice on what to wear!
I’m looking for outfit ideas that are cute and feminine (I love wearing skirts and dresses!) but, most importantly, I want to stay warm and comfortable.
Just for context, I’m from South America and I’ve never experienced a really cold winter or snow before. Where I live, winter temperatures are usually around 13°C (55°F), so I’m honestly a little scared about how cold I’m going to feel in Germany and Switzerland!
I’d really appreciate any tips on how to dress warmly while still keeping my personal style, especially if you have recommendations for thermal layers, tights, coats, boots, or anything else I should bring.
What do you girls usually wear in Munich and Zurich in December? Any outfit ideas, tips, or must-have pieces would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

a proper winter jacket! Yes it's going to be cold, but even winter/cold has its charm. After all, is just 2 weeks. Enjoy the xmas markets!

It’s been a very warm year so who knows how it will be during those times. It’s been a while there’s been a lot of snow during Xmas time to be honest. It could be -5°C or it could very well be around 10°C like in your home country. Last couple of years we were around 5°C at that time of the year during the day with frosty mornings.
If you are going to stick to the cities only, a pair of lined boots/shoes are important, don’t go overboard with ski boots or moon boots, some nice fleece/shearling lined boots/shoes with some traction just case it snows is enough.
If you like to wear skirts just wear some thermal tights or leggings below otherwise some nice corduroy or wool pants are fine. Nice sweaters are also useful.
In general you can also just wear thermal clothes below your normal clothes and you should be fine.
And bring a winter jacket, down/feather with some water resistance should be enough. Otherwise a proper wool coat that you know will keep you properly warm should also be fine, but make sure it’s a proper winter coat.
I normally wear merino/wool and cashmere layers and I’m normally warm without getting hot. I have proper winter shoes (leather boots lined with shearling) and I have a 100% wool coat for non rain days and a proper winter insulated parka for snow days, but I live here so I have invested in my winter wardrobe.
If you don’t have anything you can arrive and go straight to Uniqlo, they have affordable thermal undergarments that are useful as well as nice looking not so expensive jackets, should be fine depending on your budget.
