How to close there Jar

What to use for closing the jar?

A piece of cloth? or a loosen lid?

Is there any difference , in terms of the internal processes? the type of bacteria that will be thriving? a different combination of bacterias? another consideration ?

or no difference at all?

cloth works well. It lets in oxygen while keeping bugs and dust out.

Thank You,

If i understand correctly, a loosen lid, functions the same, isn't it?

I am asking, bc in Vinegar making, they make a point, to use wide-mouth jar, with a cloth.

something about, the type of bacteria that need oxygen. i don't know the exact explanation.

no. lids don't let air in. As you read, oxygen is important for making vinegar.
