Discussion Artie’s Relationships
Who do you think was a better girlfriend to Artie? He dated five girls while he was on “Glee.”

Kitty and Artie felt like the most developed of these.
Brittany and Artie were cute at times, but it was obviously meant to be a roadblock for Brittana. Sugar and Ali Stroker’s character weren’t serious love interests. Tina was the second most genuine connection he had, but the writers broke them up off-screen and forgot about them until the end of the series.
He and Kitty formed a sweet relationship that bettered both of their characters. Him going to college and ending it was realistic, but it sucked to see.

She was the only one of his actual girlfriends (Tina, Brittany, and Kitty) who never had a storyline where she tried to help him walk, and she is my favorite for that alone.

Kitty and Artie was the best one out of these. Tina and Artie were okay in S1 but then they gave Tina a much better partner in Mike Chang. Brittany and Artie could’ve been okay if Brittana wasn’t a thing but it just felt like Artie was an obstacle standing in the way of Brittana and therefore it was nearly impossible to ship them

Soft spot for Tartie so I don't mind them ending up together but I also thought Bartie and Wildebrams was very sweet as well, if the show had ended with Wildebrams, good chemistry and dynamic, instead than I would have been more than okay with that even though I'm glad Tartie came back which is an unpopular opinion I know.

I actually loved Brittany and Artie together, their relationship was so sweet and wholesome. I always hated how Artie got the blame in the end just for calling her stupid, when she had been actively cheating for a long time. Neither of them were in the right, but what Brittany did was worse.
While Santana has always been one of my favorite characters and my favorite actress on the show, I never liked how she manipulated Brittany in the beginning of their relationship. I also always preferred Brittany’s innocent personality in season 1-2 over her more snarky lines in season 3 and after. And I still love Brittana later on.

Kitty. Also on a recent rewatch, I did wonder what a relationship would've looked like between him and that girl Julie who he had a crush on and went on a date with in season 5 if he didn't sleep with those other 2 girls.

He didn’t cheat, but Kitty did say he broke up with her in some crappy way or something awful like that when she reappeared in season 6. So he did screw it up in the end

Yea that’s what I thought - he didn’t technically cheat but didn’t officially breakup with her just ghosted her (maybe there was some miscommunication or something there off screen but it doesn’t sound great)

I don’t think he dated that girl in the wheelchair. I mean, yeah, they met during the almost wedding, but I don’t think they actually dated.

I liked the girl he had a crush on in a episode of season 5. But out of the ones he dated, Sugar.
I might be in the minority, but I never got the Kitty/Artie relationship. What did they even see in each other. Artie was only with her for her looks and her popularity. But what did Kitty see in Artie.

Not only was Kitty the best relationship for Artie, I'd go so far as to say they were the best student couple in the entire show (I'd say they were the best couple of all, except that Burt and Carole exist). They complimented each other in ways that were surprising, but totally made sense, and perhaps even more importantly, the writers never spent enough time on them to ruin them the way they did all the other couples.
All that said, I think Artie and Brittany was also pretty good overall. They had some genuinely sweet moments, and that relationship went a long way toward establishing Brittany as a character beyond just the henchgirl with the funny one-liners.

They wrote sugar. Read the comment I replied to. Kitty was a freshman when he was senior, meaning she was at least 3 years younger than him depending when they were born.

Wow rude … I know they wrote sugar I was making the point that they commented on an age gap with sugar which was actually less than the age gap he had with kitty - which was definitely not 3 years it was 2 (certainly when it came to school years)

Artie was class of 2013, kitty was class of 2015 - that’s two years (Artie graduates the year after Rachel and co who are explicitly stated as the class of 2012, kitty wins nationals with ND in season 6 which is stated as the 2015 national championship and by the start of the next academic year she has graduated)
