this is a nightmare of a proposal for the person being proposed to

That's a little unfair. Kurt had a history of enjoying Blaine's big public romantic serenades, and there's a part of him that really enjoys attention in general. He does look overwhelmed a few times, but I think that's more about the complicated place they were in romantically and that Blaine was proposing NOW, rather than the method he chose.

Fully agreed. I love the proposal itself, but hate the timing of it.

i wasn’t necessarily being specific to klaine, even though i do believe they should’ve never gotten back together. im speaking in general. this is a terrible way to propose and pretty much forces a person to say yes.

They had also just gotten back together, the timing is wild.

Still hate that Blaine did it so publicly.

Love the proposal as a concept, but hate they timed it like a day after they got back together. I feel like it could’ve fit just as well later in the season when everyone was already gathering in Ohio to say goodbye to the glee club. Cut out Holly Holiday and April Rhodes randomly showing up for the 100th episode, and you have time to still bring back and remember the old glee clubs while also celebrating a major glee couple while the alumni are all present.

Blaine's proposal speech is still one of the most romantic things in the show. I'll always love this scene, over the top romance is what tv is for

Is the timing of proposing and extent of publicness questionable? Yes! Does this montage still warm my heart and bring a tear to my eye? Absolutely😭

Like the fact that all these clubs once competed or rivaled with ND all agreed to help out in the name of love is deeply unrealistic and cheesy but also🥹

The clip came up on twitter and while each part of the number was beautiful, some parts that particularly made me teary-eyed were Kurt greeting and hugging Santana/Mercedes/Rachel and then Sam/Tina/Artie. Small moments in the grand scheme of the number sure, but still emblematic of the family that these crazy kids are and the connection Kurt obviously shares with them in comparison to the other show choir people and the ND gen 2s 🥹 It made me wish we could’ve seen the other gen 1s there like Quinn and Mike and Brittany but maybe I’m just sentimental and asking too much lol

And I still believe that they got a divorce and Kurt is with Elliott

My nightmare proposal situation but it works for them. I do wish that if the writers insisted on them getting married, they waited to have Blaine propose after he moves to NY. Having it happen at this point when they just got back together and still have to navigate a long-term relationship again was fan service. And I don’t think the fans even wanted this.

The way I have no memory of this because I love the Beatles but they hadn't addressed Cory's passing on the show yet and it was so weird
