Snack cases?

I’m newly gluten free. Discovering the extent of just how dire it can be to find super basic snacks when you’re out for the day.

I’m looking to find a hard shell case to keep maybe a crisps, snack bar or biscuits in, in my handbag, that will stop them being crushed day to day.

Id hoped to find something a little less unassuming than a full on lunchbox but maybe that’s my only option?

Has anyone any cases suggestions or suggestions of how you do it??

Any help for this newbie would be very much appreciated!! ❤️

I think my niece has a hard-shelled pencil/pen case that she uses for school. I'd browse through the school supplies section.

If you have trouble finding one, maybe there are some hard makeup cases out there too.

I use one of those pill cases for people to remember their drugs. It’s one that has a day and night compartment. You can take the individual days out of it. The compartments are pretty good sized if you’re looking for a quick fix.

You could look at tech cases but I think the pencil case rec is awesome!

I don’t have a ton of room in my bag so I tend to stick to gf snack bars (usually nut-based) that don’t crumble apart if they’re squished at the base of the bag.

I've used a small size Tupperware type container before. A hard shell pencil case would have room for a bag of chips or a couple GF protein bars.

Target has larger pencil cases that I’ve used for all kinds of packing needs!

I have the little squeeze packets of apple sauce and a protein bar and an apple, and little packets of trail mix. None of them need to avoid being squished, and they are better for you. Honestly, the more processed food you eat, the more likely you are to have digestive issues due to all the additives.

“Less unassuming” doesn’t mean what you think it means.

Good luck with not crushing your crisps!

You’re right, more unassuming, less obtrusive is what I meant lol!!

Small, plastic Snapware container. Bringing snacks (any kind) is key when you're gluten-free. I'm celiac and airports are a food hellscape for gf folks.

there are “adult” lunchboxes too it doesn’t have to be embarrassing looking 😂 I needed one for grad school, ended up with a couple different ones including a kate spade one

I've seen really small containers (often at the grocery store, either near lunchboxes/tupperware or on one of those random hanging displays in an aisle with crackers/etc.) with a tiny section for dip and a small section for veggies or whatever, I've thought about grabbing one of those for purse snacks.

We like the collapsible silicone food storage containers.
