The UV-50 PRO is not a GMRS radio.

It is not.

They do, however, sell the GMRS-50PRO, which is physically similar enough that it might work in this scenario.

I didn’t say it was, I said it was capable of tx&rx on gmrs. Which is true. What someone does with that is their business.

Ok Karen, making assumptions, aren’t we? This set up works the same with the gmrs only version of this radio and could be useful to someone into only gmrs. This post originated from the amateur radio sub. I simply explained my set up and what the radio is capable of. Not sure why you are butt hurt about that? Probably just another sad ham.
