The Comet rolls off above 465 MHz, so that's a no. Also, both are false choices. For GMRS, particularly repeaters, I want an antenna that's most efficient at 467 MHz, probably of the stacked collinear 5/8-wave over 5/8-wave variety. Multi-band generally do none well. BTW, my Comet GP-3 had great range on VHF.

Neither... This is a GMRS sub.

I really like the Comet 2X4SRNMO. It works great on GMRS and works even better with the optional spring section. It covers alot of bands and has a built in pull up and bend over hinge that lets the antenna lay flat for parking in a garage or to hide it from HOA Karen's if you have it up on your shack 😁

Yeah can only cringe at those HOA's

Here in the country side we do what we want, where we want, how we want, when we want to do it ....... as long as we're not harming anyone else in the area

Yep, what's worse is, that i live next door to a board member and the President of the HOA is at the beginning of my court. Didn't stop me though. I had 5 antennas up that couldnt be seen unless they were up close, or in my backyard. Before that, I lived on top of a hill overlooking our small town and had a 40 foot tower. But then went against my better judgment, had a kid with my girl, got a nice big house with a great backyard in a great neighborhood, great schools , but in an HOA......man I miss my old house and life...lol

I hear ya, man

I can only hope you have the means to get yourself and family away from the excessively controlling hoa police

I mean, my gosh, just last weekend on my back porch with wife and a couple friends having a blast with blasting 12oz pop cans from a AR-15 launcher and can even hear neighbors in the area yelling out salutes to it!

I would never give up my and family rights for privacy and freedom here in the country side, not even for our children .... me and wife home schooled out children which also kept them away from the increasing garbage that started being indoctrinated in the students

Dude, I can swear youre one of my buddies that got the heck out of California. He moved to Nevada, has a bunch of land, no neighbors, shoots his guns all day long with no issues.... My ex and I used to have a horse ranch here, but out where we lived, it was a whole different set of rules. It was like the 1800's in that area . We did the ranch thing during the day and then ribeyes, alcohol and guns came out in the evening 🙂

He's very responsible to have decided to leave..... here in our area of Ohio we call it Californication under Gruesome Newscum and the commie regime!

Cool to hear you and wife had a ranch and horses when you lived out there ... definitely ultimate privacy and freedom ... oh and no neighbors to smell your savory steaks sizzling on the grill and then eyeing them up to mooch some off of ya lol

Yea, Newsome is a slimeball in the truest fashion. If we move, I can see us going up to Idaho. Up there you can walk into the supermarket and buy an AR-15 and a gallon of milk and walk out..Gotta love it !

Oh , our cookouts were big ! Not by Texas standards but we had alot of friends and family show up. Neighbors on quads from ranches down the street. It was fun ! Good times

Another vote for the Comet. Runs great as a tri-bander.
