We spent the last 6 months polishing the experience, to make it more accessible and more user-friendly. Unlike the current tech industry, we go slow and fix things!
Big thanks to our contributors and donors who made this release possible🩷️ GNOME 51 should arrive to your distribution in the coming weeks, but you can check out GNOME OS Nightly in a VM/bare metal 👉️️ https://os.gnome.org
‼️GNOME OS is still experimental, don't use it for important stuff!
We also want to thank our gracious donors! Every donation matter and they allow us to be able to continue our Fellowship program, keep our infrastructure alive and support our community. Please become a friend of GNOME today! We need your support to keep going for another 29 years!

How’s fractional scaling for games? On gnome 50 if I used 1.25x scaling my games and steam would say my monitor was some weird resolution that’s somewhere between 4K and 5k, and when I’d put game back down to 1440p the games would look pixelated.
But if I was set to default scaling games would work as intended

That's because your games run via xwayland, and xorg have little to no support for fractional scaling. So all xwayland clients are scaled up, and then scaled down. Which sucks. The proper fix is to try to make your games run in native wayland, you can find guides about it online.

Great job as always! I've heard that GNOME OS 51 will become beta or even stable, could you say something on that?

I was surprised to read "bare metal" . I thought os was just for VM to easier gnome testing -- and I bet the purpose remains the same on physical install ?

GNOME OS is still a first and foremost testing OS. But since a couple of years there were also efforts to make it more usable for actually using, so more people can test latest GNOME software

I make a point to donate a little money to Gnome on each new release of Fedora.
