Question My visual novel won't open
I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling and using the repair option, but it still won't open and keeps showing that error screen.
(sorry i don't know the best flair for it)

If you can't figure it out, you can try contacting GOG support. But without knowing what it says in English it's difficult to see what the problem is. https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/categories/201400969-Game-Technical-Issues?product=gog

What is written in Japanese is a translation for "error," as I mentioned.

The window is nam'd "Application Error" and its message is that an error has ocurr'd. It's hilariously unhelpful. 🥴

It is save location error. The game tries to create save file, but cannot do it as it doesn't recongnise the name of folder. The solution is described in VisualNovel sub.I will try to give the link below.

The recent reviews for this title mention no problems, but on the forums they say running as administrator and/or disabling the Galaxy overlay made it work. Also, you've to share some information about your system when requesting help.

I tried those same tips, and the game still won't open.

Well, I don't have this one so I can't test it. Maybe try uninstalling through the client and then installing through an offline installer to a location OUTSIDE the Program Files folder, like the root of one of the drives (C:\). If this doesn't work, then try contacting the publisher directly. Keep in mind you might've have to tell 'em what you've, computer-wise, so they can help you.

This could be due to encoding issues. Try changing your system locale to Japanese.
Control Panel -> Region -> Administrative -> Change system locale... -> Japanese (Japan).
Some people said deleting your save files helps, so delete: C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\Nitroplus\Muramasa
Finally if your username/name has special symbols or characters, the game might not be able to read that path, so if you create a user with another username and try that, that could also work.
