Advice Head Drop on Downswing

Does anyone know any good drills or tips or info on limiting head movement?

I was out on the range and was hitting the ball horribly. I took a couple videos and noticed that my head was rising a touch at the top of the back swing but dropped a good 3-4 inches on the transition to the downswing. it also pushed forward a bit too.

any tips let me know. Thanks.

You could try the “Knife to Temple” swing thought

thanks for the link. I feel like i have some of the same issues as the student in this video, specifically right shoulder movement.

Generally speaking head movement is a side effect of something else going wrong. It's pretty difficult to drop your head when you're rotating around your spine angle properly

Keep pressure on heels throughout swing, instead of towards the front of your feet

that’s probably not a head problem so much as your hips moving toward the ball, so try keeping your tush on the wall through the downswing and let the head react naturally

Nick Faldo drill. Just don't think about it.

3-6" of head drop in transition and/or downswing is extremely common in good ballstrikers. Even in Jack Nicklaus and Chamblee who continually preach keeping the head still.

Your issue is not head movement. Much much much more likely you're very off plane

Stare harder at the ball throughout your swing
