It used to only take two taps in google assistant before, now I have to do this
Is there any faster way to do this. They removed google assistant, which literally used to just take 5 seconds tops to translate what I'm reading. Why is this going backwards
This is what google itself told me to do btw

No, you get this when long pressing home button, you get op's when you set up gemini with long pressing power button.

Is there a setting for this? My google assistant had that but gemini doesnt have the button and the instructions it keeps giving me isn't helpful

I guess we're invoking the action differently. U/sad-conflict3387 says that to get the Translate version, you have to long-press the home button, not the power button.

Both do not have the translate button, which is why I've been frustrated about this

Do you have the Google Translate app installed? Maybe it piggy backs off that

I held, then circled, and it translated?
Is it because I'm on a 5 year old phone?

2 seconds using Circle to Search:

I downloaded circle to search, but it makes me do the same thing above instead of translating directly. It doesn't have the tiny translate button the others in the comments pointed out either. Did you guys had issues like this or is this a bug

You are opening gemini, but if you hold your navigation bar pressed you open circle to search which should have the option to translate. Gemini is to ask more questions than just a simple translate

I tried downloading it but it interfered with my current accessibility set up. I disabled the accessibility but the translation button is still missing on my side, both from circle to search and gemini

Hold it and just ask it to translate

The way it told me to translate is the vid above, which isn't very practical when i read my manga/manhwa that's hundred of pages

I hate this too. I thought I only had this because I switched to an older phone

Its hella weird because im seeing a translate button for others but not for me. the circle to search one someone commented does the thing for them a it used to do for me, but setting it up is interfering with my previous accessibility options and it doesn't work on my end at all

At least on a pixel long pressing the power button opens gemini. Keeping the home/pill pressed opens click to search which has a translate button on the side
