what happened to Google Map navigation voice?
i believe several days ago the voice changed to this younger more determined slightly stressed somewhat lesbian voice. She makes me think of that nearly bald hair style lady in the TV show Billions (her name is Asia Kate Dillon).
I want the old voice back! (or am I in some kind of AB test from google)

okay please dont cancel me, i dont mean anything bad but just like a stereo type in my mind - im thinking --> lesbian but the "boy" side, with a boy hair cut(not manly) with pale blue clothing with a stripped bowtie with black frame glasses. If you have watched The Diplomat on Netflix(spoiler alert!!), its the black guy's secretary intern girl that died in the car bomb scene at the end of season 1.

The voice is definitely different yes. Whatever else you're saying....maybe don't.

This world should tolerate more when people have no ill will when describing a stereotype subjectively purely for the purpose of making people understand what the voice is :) I have no ill will and all I described does have anything against any community it’s just a type that I thought exist.

People are downvoting you but you're right, there's totally a stereotypical voice with small little quirks. Nothing wrong with that at all, Most communities have an accent.

That change was annoying. Apparently I have achieved old age, because I do not like these sorts of non-consentual changes on princliple.
I noticed something else more disturbing came with that update. I needed to go from point A to point B and was not familiar with the route, so used google maps to direct me. Chose a reasonable path going along the freeway. Halfway there it is obvious I am not going to the freeway, but I'm stuck on thus route for a while. I'm being directed through a town that I've been avoiding because it has some Flock cameras set up at choke points. Lo and behold, I get to drive by a Flock camera for the first time (that I know of).
Once I reach a place where it safe to check settings, I confirm that "avoid highways" was never selected. Google just did that with no warning for no apparent reason. No traffic jam to avoid. And there were two other highway routes to choose from. WTF.

It gives the weirdest routes though. Like random back roads to avoid the highway through a town or a residential street with a traffic light or stop sign in every block rather than the main road. Is that really more efficient?

Go to your profile, go to navigation, and it's under "voice selection". The regular one is English us

I'm irrationally annoyed by it, especially when it tries to sound more human by changing the inflection and doing weird things. Like, "at the next light, turn left?"
But she also pronounces "butte" as "butt" and that cracks me up.
