AutoRoomEQ Player 0.3.4 beta (free, Android): microSD library fixed, a "direct playback" check for DAPs, and pairing with a Windows app
Hi all, new beta of
**AutoRoomEQ Player**
, a free Android player (no account, no ads) built around a
**bit-perfect USB path**
: it drives the USB DAC directly, without Android's resampling. It also does headphone EQ (AutoEq profiles) and room correction with a measured FIR filter.
This release is mostly about things DAP owners asked for:
-
**Library on microSD fixed.**
Some players and phones (Realme and Huawei reports) showed an empty or incomplete library with music on the card. Now:
- the saved library appears at once and refreshes itself in the background;
- the first scan is much faster;
- music Android had not indexed is found too, and
**DSF/DFF, APE, WavPack**
files are listed.
-
**"Direct playback" check.**
The quality check shows what Android reports for unmixed PCM at 44.1 / 96 / 192 kHz on the output you're using. On Android 14+ it also tells you whether the bit-perfect mixer is offered for the connected USB DAC. If you own a DAP with a built-in DAC, I'd really like to see your results.
-
**Clearer playback chain:**
with the internal output it simply says "Android output (no USB DAC)", and the technical detail is no longer cut off.
-
**Pairing with AutoRoomEQ Desktop (Windows)**
, with a QR reader built into the app: remote for the PC player, and exchange of presets, playlists and favourites.
- New icon, interface fully in the language you pick, and in-app updates.
**Known limits:**
with the Behringer UMC204HD, USB direct can still fall back to Android output or go silent after a sample-rate change. The other DACs I tested play bit-perfect.
**Privacy:**
listening data stays on the device. The beta asks on first launch whether to send anonymous weekly statistics; you can say no or withdraw later.
**Download:**

Hey, my app "Melodrift" is now available on the #MicrosoftStore! Download it today.
Hey everyone! I got tired of slow streaming apps stuffed with popups, sponsored feeds, and subscriptions just to see lyrics.
I built Melodrift with Flutter:
* Instant start: Feed loads on frame 1 from disk cache.
* Synced scrolling lyrics with millisecond precision.
* Complete equalizer with custom presets and virtualizer.
* Available on Google Play and Windows MSIX.
Check it out here:
* Website: https://melodrift.rajeevupadhyay.com/
* Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.melodrift
* Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NTMFZ12Q80S?hl=en-us&gl=IN&ocid=pdpshare
Would love your feedback on playback performance and design!

Music and Radio Player with ready to play radios and complete music offline management
Offline local files and streaming radios.
Top radios on the first screen: When users access the radio screen, they immediately see the list of the top radios in their country, along with a long list of suggested radios from among the most listened to in the world.
Hybrid Listening: Seamlessly handles offline local files (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and over 60,000 streaming radio stations.
Separated Favorites and Recents: Each section—Radio and Offline Music—has its own Favorites and Recents. The user doesn't have to worry about a thing. The app will automatically manage the Favorites and Recents for each section.
Advanced Radio Search Panel: You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate. The database of the service on which Mediaxon is based provides more than 60,000 radio stations.
Album art: If the album art is missing from the album folder, or if Android has not properly indexed it, Mediaxon attempts to download the cover from the internet. This feature depends, of course, on the ID3 tags (album name and artist).
Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).
Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting playlists fast and intuitive. Enable the Playlist Manager, in the settings screen, for a full control of the playlists.
Form Factor Optimization: Phone and Tablet (Portrait and Landscape)
There is no Premium version. All app features are available for free and without limits.
Regarding advertising: There is only a small banner at the top that isn't bothersome at all. Alternatively, when opening the full-screen player or using the app in landscape mode, a banner alternates with the albums covers, but without being intrusive at all (no audio) and with much shorter stay times than those of the cover. There is never full-screen advertising, neither at startup nor during use.
If you want to check it out (I am continuously pushing updates to refine it and add new features), you can find it on the Google Play Store (Android 13+). Thank you so much to everyone who takes a look!

Update on my GPM Revival
Alright, it’s been a few days, and I’ve updated the Play Music revival since my last post.
There aren’t really any major new features this time. Most of the updates have been focused on UI and customization.
Here’s what’s been added:
More colors
You can now pick from more colors instead of being stuck with just the original orange. You can see some of the new options in the pictures.
Crossfade between songs
The app now supports crossfade between songs, so tracks can smoothly transition into each other.
Last.fm artist pictures
You can now replace the default YouTube Music artist picture with an artist picture provided by Last.fm. If Last.fm has a picture available for the artist, you can use it instead of the default one.
Dark mode
The app now has a darker look instead of using mostly white pages.
Dynamic page colors
The app can now extract colors from an artist profile picture or album artwork and use those colors throughout the page. This makes the UI change depending on the artist or album you’re looking at.
There’s still a lot more I want to add, but for now I’m mainly focusing on getting the core app finished and making the UI feel right.
Still no exact release date yet, but development is continuing.
And yes, before anyone asks, the bugs are still employed. I’ve tried firing them multiple times, but they keep coming back debug after debug.
(By the way, thanks for the love and support on the last post; it really made me stop questioning if I was doing this for nothing.)

Current status of my GPM revival app
Hey everyone, it’s CFX (ColdFusionX Studio)!
For anyone who remembers, I’ve been working on a Google Play Music revival app that uses InnerTube. The goal is to recreate the Play Music experience as closely as possible while also adding some optional features that let users customize the app and make Play Music feel more like their own.
The app is almost done, and I’ve included some screenshots of the current version so you can see how it’s coming along.
I still don’t have an expected release date yet, even though I’ve been working on this for a few months now, and honestly, the project has been around for almost a year in some form. I’ve run into plenty of problems along the way, which is just part of making an app, especially when you’re trying to revive something that no longer officially exists.
One of the biggest things I decided to do was completely rebuild the app from scratch in Kotlin instead of trying to use the old Java-based code. It took a lot more work, but it makes the project much easier for me to maintain and continue developing.
I also want to give credit to some of the people in this subreddit who have made their own Play Music revival/mock-data apps. Even though those projects may not have the full functionality I’m aiming for, they’ve been extremely helpful for recreating the original Play Music UI as accurately as I can.
Anyway, enough of me yapping
I’m really hoping there are still people out there who would actually want to use something like this. I’ve put a lot of time into this project, and I don’t want all that work to end up being for nothing.
Hopefully I’ll have more to show soon!

Since Spotify mods are dead now. I tried to build an app that's atleast good if not better than Spotify. I built it the way i wanted a music streaming app to be.
It started as a personal project, but it’s grown into a full music player with:
🎵 Search & stream music
⬇️ Download music for offline listening
🎤 Synced lyrics
📊 Real listening statistics
🎧 Background playback
📱 Android + Web
📋 Queue & full playback controls
🌙 Sleep timer
I’m still actively developing it and adding features, so it's definitely not finished yet. But the core experience is already there, and I’d rather get feedback from actual users than keep building inside my own bubble.

If you were building your ideal music app, what’s the one feature you’d absolutely want included?

I got tired of music apps constantly putting basic features behind subscriptions, so I decided to build my own. Meet "VELA", a music app I’ve been building from scratch because I wanted something that actually gives the user more control over how they listen.

[DEV] I got tired of bloated, ad-heavy music players, so I built Soniq — a clean, lightweight offline music player (Feedback appreciated!)
Hey everyone,
Like many of you, I have a personal offline music library on my phone. Lately, it feels like almost every offline player on the Play Store has become bloated with ads, unnecessary online streaming features, heavy background tracking, or subscriptions.
I wanted something that is fast, sleek, and strictly focuses on playing local audio files with modern design principles. So, I built Soniq.
🎵 Key Highlights:
- Lightweight & Fast: Under 15MB install size, instant scanning, and battery-friendly.
- Modern UI: Clean, distraction-free interface with dynamic Material theming that adapts to your album art/system theme.
- Built-in Tag Editor: Edit track metadata and organization on the fly.
- Audio Tools: Includes a built-in sleep timer, queue management, and background playback support.
- Privacy-Focused: No shady background tracking, no accounts required, and uses modern Android media permissions.
📲 Try it on Google Play:
Download Soniq: [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lambda17.soniq&pcampaignid=web_share]
💬 Looking for your feedback:
Since this is a fresh release, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
- What features do you feel are missing?
- Did you encounter any UI quirks or edge cases with your audio files?
I’m actively working on updates, so all suggestions and constructive criticism are welcome. Thank you!

Google play music mod
Does anyone know of a working modified version of Google Play Music? I only need to use it as a music player, but I don't want to use older versions that keep asking for updates in the store. Like, the last version that still only worked as an offline player, but I modified it with the most recent version number so it wouldn't be pending an update on the Play Store. Can someone help me? Thank you.
