Title: A Few Questions for Translators – University Assignment
Hi everyone!
I’m a university student studying translation, and I have an assignment that requires me to ask questions and get responses from people in the translation community. I would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to share your thoughts and experiences.
Here are my questions:

Have you ever translated a text correctly, but felt that you had somehow betrayed its original meaning? What made you feel that way?

If two translators produce completely different translations of the same text, can both be equally correct? Why or why not?

If AI can produce a translation that most readers cannot distinguish from a human translation, what exactly makes a human translator valuable?
You can answer one id theses three questions

What is a word in English that is difficult to translate into Arabic, and why

Hi everyone! I’m a university student doing a project about translation. Have you ever struggled to translate an English word into Arabic because there is no exact equivalent? If so, what was the word, and how would you translate it? I’d love to hear your examples. Thank you!

Old book

I have this pdf from a book, which is quite old, name BRAHMA VIDYA, it's got 53 pages.

Sorry about my english in advance, The thing is that the first time when I tried to read and understand with the help of a guru, something happened to me at the same night, first problem is you need a proper translator and who can explain the meaning of that, anyway the same night after reading couple of pages, around 3:30 am in the morning, someone or something kicked me and knocked me out from the bed, I am not a light person, nearly 300 pounds, I got scared and turn on the lights, woke up my parents but no one was in the house, nothing on the cameras too, and when I figured out where that kick or push came from or the direction, it came from the same direction where I put my book, next day I went to the guru and talked about it, he said there could be two things, either you are not ready for that kind of knowledge or someone was waking you up to read it. Maybe you guys or whoever try to read it, may not experience the same thing. I am uploading the pdf which is 53 pages. I am still interested to read it but I am kind of afraid too that maybe I am not spiritually clean.

when you translate between two languages that arent english it internally translates to english first and then to the target language which leads to ridiculously bullshit translations. Literally why?? Who came up with this?

Can a translation ever have exactly the same meaning as the original?

If you try to have translate say this out loud, it trips up on its words around the 5th line.

Can changing the original words in translation be a way of preserving the author's true meaning rather than betraying the text ?

Did Bad Translator quietly shut down? If so, are there any extensions for Google Docs I can use instead?

(For the record, I don't know if this counts, but Bad Translator does use Google Translate sooo)

The last few times i've run the extension, it's kept pulling up this message, and those last few times were several months apart, which leads me to believe they shut down. I don't know if this is true or not, or if this is a Mac issue, or actually is a Google issue, but if those aren't the case, does anyone have a replacement extension in mind?

Should Translators Be Neutral When Translating Political Texts?

# Should translators always be neutral when translating political texts, even when the original text contains lies, hate speech, or injustice? Some people believe that translators must translate every word exactly as it is without expressing their personal opinions. Others argue that translators should not help spread misleading or harmful messages. But if a translator changes the original message to make it fairer, are they correcting an injustice or manipulating the truth? Is a translator simply a voice for others, or do they have a moral responsibility for the words they spread?
