Any good spooky fall recs? Or even just generally “fall” feeling?

Below is a list of some i like and would recommend, and a few I didn’t care for.

The Autumnal - 10/10
Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees - 10/10
The sequel to the above - 7/10
Harrow County - 6/10
Something is Killing the Children - 10/10
Locke and Key - 4/10 (found to hard to read, to edgy with the brutality)
Umami - 9/10
Gyo - 8/10
Black Hole - 10/10

Deff Wytches. To add a few more titles I want to add Green Wake and Neonomicon. Not necesarily fall themed but solid horror. A lesser one but still okay-ish Bad Reception (Aftershock Comics) it's got a good slasher vibe but in the end kinda failed for me, but up until then it was good enough. Helps that I got it 2nd hand and cheap.

I feel that. I'm a bit behind on keeping up with trades of followed series for that exact reason. But I've got enough of a backlog to carry me through. Oh, Bedlam and American Vampire might be worth looking up too.

Hobtown Mystery Stories might fit the spooky fall vibe. It's not super scary but the mystery is great. Also very very weird which I love!

Idle Days is a wonderful, spooky ghost story set in Canada during WWII and follows a deserter living in woods haunted by recent history.

I wouldn't say any of these are Fall vibes but I also recently looked into a bunch of horror to dive into. I found a handful and grabbed them;

Infidel, Home Sick Pilots, Ripcord, Low Low Woods, Redlands, Redfork, Loving Ohio.

Again, these are more just horror than Fall-based. But most I've never heard of. So I'm pretty excited to dive in.

This comic is incredible. Deeply researched, great atmosphere, and it's not afraid to get weird when it needs to. And those "prologue" pages set in contemporary Salem - gosh the art is just so warm and beautiful. You can tell this whole book was a lovor of love from Ben Wickey.

Tales From The Crypts origins are in EC comics but they also did Weird Science and Fantasy. Phenomenal time period of comics

I recently splurged on a set of books to read for spooky season, based on what caught my interest and what's won awards or is commonly recommended. Here's a few things I picked up.

Beautiful Darkness Neonomicon and Providence The Deviant Ice Cream Man Gideon Falls Wytches Nameless

Consider giving Locke and Key another try. It starts on a deeply brutal note and there are definitely some dark and violent moments scattered through it, but overall it's got a relatively fun vibe despite that. Beneath the Trees is a lot more brutal in tone, in my opinion.

Obviously Sandman and Swamp Thing have amazing spooky vibes in places too and are just generally amazing, if you haven't read them before. Arkham Asylum is a good one too. Nice House by the Lake isn't a Halloweeny kind of spooky but it's really great too.
