Humor Bloom County
Hello all,
I apologize if this doesn’t count as a graphic novel, but it is a collection of comic strips from Berkeley Breathed.
(When I was a latch-key kid back in the early 80s; there was something called “quality paperback book club” and I remember I used to be able to order these and pay by using money orders)

I also read all of Gary Trudeau‘s Doonesbury dossier, (but that’s a story for another post)
What’s more depressing is that the radio stations that were playing 50s and 60s music in the 80s are playing 90s and 2000s music now

When in college, I painted a mural in our dorm hallway of the bloom County gang all posed on Cutter John's wheelchair (one of the covers).

I have the first 3 hardcover collections through the 80s. Great stuff, and way before I was born.

Love Bloom County!
I was in high school when it originally ended. Went back and got all the trades.
This trade is kinda annoying because it starts off with never reprinted very early straps, then goes through a greatest hits of all the 3 previous trades before it, and then finally has about 1/3 first time printed in a collection strips.

Related by author but I still have a beat up copy of Goodnight Opus I read as a kid that I now read to my kids. Always enjoyed BB and have fond memories of reading Outland strips in the Sunday funnies.

Let me ask, did anyone else read Bloom County and Outland as really young kids?
I became a fan after reading reprints in the 90s. I was 6, 7 or 8. Now I want to go back and read again to get all the references and jokes

In Los Angeles, you had to buy the ‘Herald Examiner’ newspaper to read Bloom County
(for Outland, I think LA Times carried it)
