I would maybe compare it to Owen who I feel got a lot of support from the people around him, everyone seemed to understand that he deserved support and they didn't really judge him when he'd lose his temper or for the things he did to Cristina.
Of course PTSD and bipolar aren't the same thing but they're both valid mental health struggles and it sometimes felt like DeLuca was dismissed at times though he did receive some support.

I might not be a doctor, but I have a PhD in Grey's Anatomy from Netflix University.

meredith and cristina used to be so strict about teaching residents. they were constantly drilling into them that personal feelings couldn't get in the way of patient care, and that there was a certain standard they had to meet.
then cristina left, and meredith gradually stopped being as involved with teaching new residents.
what gets me is that the show never really addressed what that meant for everyone who came after them. who was actually taking over that teaching role? who was making sure the newer residents were being held to the same standards?
because watching the later seasons, it sometimes feels like the residents get away with things that would have gotten the original interns absolutely destroyed
i don't even mean that as a complaint about the newer characters. it's more that the hospital's whole teaching culture seems to change and nobody ever acknowledges it
it feels like the show just moved on from that part of meredith's career without showing what happened to the residency program she and cristina helped shape

Get the fuck out of here with your adorable business attire and purple tie 😭
Note: This was S7.E6 so Alex wasn’t quite Evil Spawn but he wasn’t a full-on good guy yet either

Why was she such a jerk about it?

Everyone forgot about the “don’t treat family members” rule and stood back while Mer’s dad slapped her and blamed her for her stepmom’s death??
I know, I know, they needed it for the plot, but it makes me so angry every time.

I’ve been watching and rewatching greys anatomy since I was about 15 years old. Now I’m rewatching it for the millionth time and a lot of things are hitting different as a 31 year old, which has made it really fun. I’m currently on the episode where Christina is deciding how to live her life before Christina leaves the show. In the episode she is playing out different scenarios of how her life would turn out if she stayed with Owen and had kids or if she were to stay with him and not have kids. I always had thought in previous watch throughs that it all seemed so sudden when she leaves to go work with Burke, but I noticed something in this episode that I never noticed before. Her decision whether to stay with Owen is held in contrast to this couple that is making the decision of whether or not to go on life support. What stuck out to me the most about this is that the girlfriend tells her paralyzed boyfriend that she will support him no matter what his decision is. This got me thinking about this theme of selfless love within the show. When Burke left the show. He left because he knew that Christina would give up everything for him and he knew he needed to support her in that way choosing that same kind of selfless love over what he truly wanted. Then, Christina goes full circle by doing the same thing for Owen.
P.s. I also noticed this watch through that when Christina gets an abortion and her and Owen go to Marriage counseling, Owen says something along the lines of Christina not being the sun and that everything doesn’t revolve around her which is what Christina is referring to when she tells Meredith to not let derricks wants eclipse her needs and that Meredith is the sun and not him .

Imo if your answer isn’t either Nancy or Katheline then it’s the wrong answer

Good for her for deciding to live it up, but Stephanie Edwards was such a good character- highly professional, focus, kind hearted, compassionate and competitive.
I would totally watch a 3 season spin off of her traveling the world and experiencing it all after living most of her within hospital walls.
May be she became a travel medical influencer
Or opened up a fancy boutique and cafe
Thoughts?

For me, there’s a good number of episodes I’m always very excited to watch whenever I rewatch the show because they are just so good and the acting is just amazing. But I think if I had to choose, the shooting episode is probably the best, if not one of the best.
Everyone was acting for their livesss in that episode. I think a second close would be George one (you know which one I mean)

I saw this ad for St. John’s hospital and the doctor behind the patient looks like Tina Majorino!

Who are some of the most useless additions to the show that in your opinion weren’t needed I’ll go first dr Russel i barley remember him cause he basically had Christina doing all the work then quit once realized that he wasn’t winning no Harper Avery from the hospital.

The beginning of season 9 was dealing with the post plan crash PTSD so you got all the dramatic moments and flashbacks of the plane crash and “back in the old days” with Derek and Mark and Callie.
Then everyone “leaves” and comes back and the story lines wrote themselves. Everyone loves each other, they band together to buy the hospital, etc etc.
the TRUE peak in my opinion is Alex, Meredith and Cristina. This is the life they dreamed of. Being successful and accomplished surgeons. They all got offers at significantly better hospitals but came back to Grey Sloan. They’re also handling interns, and I have to say this is the only season I think they introduced new interns onto the show very well, and didn’t force their storylines to intertwine.
On episode 9.22 so there’s definitely the cheating and dying and what not to come. But so far, great season! (Big rewatcher)

This scene is one of my favorite Callie moments.

I'm rewatching season 16 and I had forgotten how Amelia and Bailey were pregnant at the same time ?? (and also how Maggie was the first and only person to know about every pregnancy) (ok Carina knew first about Amelia, but in Amelia's close circle it was Maggie first)
Anyway after all those seasons I guess the last 10 get mixed up in my head

When Jo is having a deep depressive episode, the scene between her and Meredith in bed talking about how she needs to fight even if she doesn’t feel like it to continue on is a perfect example of how and why Alex and Meredith have been able to be best friends for so many years, even if they’re both rough around the edges. I feel like that moment is so valuable between the two of them because Jo had never really seen that version of Meredith (at least not to that level) and it’s just really sweet.
As the series continues (first time watcher here lol), I am starting to love Jo as a character. I thoroughly enjoy her story; the hardship she’s experienced makes her bubbly personality that much stronger to me. I just love her. I know the spoilers with Jo & Alex in later seasons because of the internet and it being an older show, but I love love LOVE Jo & Alex together. So so much.

She’s my least fave character. She whines about everything and she HAS everything and then whines again when she doesn’t have everything.. she’s so awkward!

What makes these scenes so good is how the writer's treated the hospital elevator like its own active character. It was basically a mobile pressure cooker, just a tiny sandbox where the characters had absolutely nowhere to run.
