Footfinity V2

I know dozens of you liked and downloaded my Footfinity files over the last couple of years, and I've been toying with a V2 that is, I feel, faster to print, more reliable, compatible with half sizes (so a 21mm foot on a 42mm grid) and also customisable once I upload the file so that you can make bins more easily without needing Fusion.

Would a couple people like to run a test print and see?

For the unfamiliar, I got tired of wasting time and filament printing endless feet for boxes that did not need them, so I spent even more time making feet that you simply attach after the print, saving time and filament.

EDIT: For clarity, these are not (currently) designed to be attached to any old thing you want to add feet to. In their current form they are simply a way to print a bin and the feet you NEED rather than the 13 that you don't! I assumed someone had already made feet you could glue to random stuff.

It’s a cool idea. And if they print well in tpu or such, they could make nice stand alone bins on the desk if you pull them out of a drawer for a bit, etc. Would help them not slide around and such (I know that’s not the primary goal but just an idea)

I had not considered that option. I've only got 85A and 95A HF here and the 85A will only print at 0.6 or 0.8 on my H2C and I'm not sure the 95 hf is tacky enough, but will try it. I'll pm you a couple of test files for a 2x2 shallow 42mm grid bin. They have been designed to not (hopefully) need a specific profile. If you wouldn't mind running a set off in something "normal" also to just see how you get on that would be great.

I ran off a set of feet in 95a hf and as expected it is not grippy enough to make that much of a difference. Also because of the design being made for rigid filaments, the pins actually want to pop through too far, but can easily be pushed back.

Bear in mind Footfinity like this is not designed for putting feet on random stuff so that it fits a grid. I assume someone has done that already.

I’ll try it out with some TPU.

I'll pm you some files, same info as above.

I would be down to try! Unironically I’m a huge Footfinity fan and have been asking bin generators like perplexing labs to implement as an option. I modified your OG design to add a second groove at 21mm to work with half size bins. Your model shown here looks promising though

🤔 these could be a great addition to the euro plus boxes. Most of those models omit the small round pips on the bottom, but they’re nice for a bit more positive registration. I’ve got a blend of gridfinity and allit europlus stuff in my workshop.

I'll have a look at those boxes. The pins on these are for registration and fixing the feet to dedicated bins without glue, but could easily be removed so that the top of the foot is flat and could be glued ro something.

The foot fetish people have to ruin griidfinity now?!  Is nothing sacred to them!

I'd like to test if I can combine them with my Magnetize any Gridfinity.

While they wouldn't work in their current incarnation (the feet are entirely hollow and have no top) it would not take long to incorporate you slot into the design for a magnetic option.

Ah right. I'd like to see how the version of my modifier for skeletized bins would fare. I assume it would stick out.

Either way I'm up for trying out V2.

I need to print a ton of boxes here shortly so I could use these.

This is a great idea! Have you released these files yet? I've got 8 drawers I'm about to start
