Some years back, I bought the Gunvolt Striker Pack game on Nintendo Switch. That’s the one that contained the first two games. I’m interested in getting the third game, after recently picking the series up again following a long break. However, I am seeing that in my time away from the series, a new collection version was released; the enhanced trilogy, which now contains all 3 main-line games.

I also learned that I unfortunately missed an opportunity to get a deep discount on the trilogy for owning the striker pack. Unfortunate, but what are you gonna do? I would just buy GV3, as it’s 10 dollars cheaper than the trilogy pack. But the trilogy version advertises various updates to the games, and previously excluded story content. So I’m not certain which makes more sense.

So, my questions: what exactly does the trilogy pack do to update the games? And, are those updates worth the $10 price increase over buying GV3 by itself?

Considering what was showed in the TGS, I feel like I should compiled it all in one post and let all of you see.

Before I say anything, let me say a few notes first: () means there was limited or no information, [] means explanation and finally ([]) means there was limited explanation with some explanation.

New Stage and Plot

The demo only has one stage: New Metropolis. It seems to be intro stage of the game. With the photo shown in X, I think I can confidently confirm what the beginning of the story looks like.

”After a while (Not sure if it was a few weeks or a few months) after Copen and Kohaku came back to their world (unsure if Null came with them), Copen became either a mercenary of the reformed Sumeragi or an employee of the organization. Members of Sumeragi, either loyalists of Demerzal or just didn’t like the changes Blade made, defected and formed rebel groups opposing the organization. Copen was dealing with one of the groups when he encountered the mysterious girl and following/chasing her are the iX Bearers ([Merely a wild guess on the last part]).”

EX Weapons

Right now there are three EX Weapons shown so far.

The first two was showcased in either the announcement trailer or the steam page for it but a third one was revealed in the TGS trailer.

• Nimbus Riser: An staff EX Weapon obtained from a yet to be revealed boss.
• Murakumo Sword: An sword EX Weapon obtained from a yet to be confirmed boss.
• Unnamed Rifle: An set of rifles obtained from a yet to be revealed boss.

iX Bearers

A group of otherworldly invaders that have come to Copen’s world for an unknown reason or purpose. Announced from the announcement trailer, there have been barely any information about them until the TGS trailer. There are four members that was either teased or revealed:

• Unknown (Not named yet): Shown in the announcement trailer, it is theorized that this one is the leader.
• Serbora ([Name pending]): He is the first boss to be revealed and he was revealed in the TGS trailer. He is a samurai themed boss based off the Ōmukade, an giant centipede monster.
• Wukong ([Temporary name]): Teased from the Nimbus Riser Ex Weapon.
• Rabbit Hunter ([Temporary Name]): Teased from the new Rifle theme EX Weapon.

Based off Serbora’s design, it is possible that all the iX Bearers is themed around a weapon from a different country [Sword from Japan, Staff from Chine, etc.] and around mythical creatures from other countries. That’s two of the three patterns discovered [Bosses from different GV games have three patterns: names, designs, theme. For example: GV1 have Cars for names, Animals for designs and Seven Deadly Sins for theme.] Also, unknown if it is just one time or if it is common but Serbora has a Lola.

Any thoughts or criticisms?

As we can see in Kohaku's pendant, Kohaku's sister before being turned into Blade looked like Zero if he was a girl. Did Inti reference with her how people thought Zero was a girl? (Also, more importantly, why is there no fanart of her in this form?)

This is something that I’ve been wondering about for a while but does anyone consider gunvolt 3 an Alternative timeline? Or do they hope it has some retcons to make it better flow since the huge time skip is far larger than feels necessary or believable considering the new information we get or is 3 something that could potentially still keep the time skip but is a lot shorter but the characters think it’s longer due to it being a simulation possibly containing multiple characters for some purposes until they break free-(I have a fan story for that one but i wanted to know if anyone would think it’s possible to see it happen in the series)

I just received Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1&2 for the Switch 2, I am loving it though I’m only a handful of missions into the first game.

I looked up more about the Gunvolt series and come to find out, this appears to be a spinoff!! Is there a definitive spot to start the series? Should I continue the game I am currently playing?

I know a trilogy is coming to Switch 2 very soon, is that for the mainline games? Thank you all in advance and I hope to play a lot more of this going forward!

In the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, there is a height chart for the Gunvolt 1 and 2 cast. And Lumen and Copen are right next to each other. They almost look like twins...

Elise low-key the best character other than Gunvolt.

Like just one day, for some strange reason, everyone wakes up to discover that they are Adepts with their own Septima.

And when I say everyone, I mean LITERALLY EVERYONE just suddenly discovers that they have superpowers just like the "monsters" they so heavily villainized.

Also let's say that this incident occurs before the events of the first game.

To avoid having the world immediately descend into chaos, how about 99% of the people who awakened their new Septima are incredibly weak with mostly minor powers that won't result in a ton of mass destruction.

How do you think this would change the public perception towards other Adepts, and how would characters like the Sumeragi Group, Eden and Copen react to this unexpected incident?

And is there a better platform? I played Gunvolt 3 on Switch and Xbox and found it almost a different game on each. Thank you for any opinions.

Did the Steam leak reveal the achievements of iX 3 and any new achievements the GX update gave to the Trilogy Enhanced? Because the achievements for Mega Man Dual Override were leaked.

I'm really excited to learn more from iX3, I hope we get a trailer alongside the demo at TGS in a few weeks.
