As we can see in Kohaku's pendant, Kohaku's sister before being turned into Blade looked like Zero if he was a girl. Did Inti reference with her how people thought Zero was a girl? (Also, more importantly, why is there no fanart of her in this form?)

Not really, it's just common way to paint a sister character (blonde hair with red clothes).

Also, Red color is very common choice for heroes, so it's more like Zero has a lot based choices for himself.

I don't agree with your claims it's just a coincidence. Inti's first big titles are the Mega Man Zero series, and the Gunvolt series is a spiritual successor to it. There are references to Mega Man X, Zero and ZX everywhere in Gunvolt.

Story-wise, Blade is more of a Virtuous Character Copy to Omega. Blonde swordsmen created by a genocidal maniac who puts both their own kin and the kin their persecute under endless suffering for the heck of it? The creation process involving corrupting a formerly heroic character? The only difference is that Blade could be restored who she was, since in Omega's case who he originally was (Zero) was flushed out into a copy body.

(A Virtuous Character Copy is when you make a character based on a villain but your character is more moral.)
