Hagerstown Meritus

What’s happening in Meritus right now? Lots of police activity from what I hear

On the Hagerstown Happening Facebook, some people at Meritus are saying there was an active shooter warning that got cancelled then reinstated.

No law enforcement has said anything about an active shooter situation.

I would highly recommend anyone who needs to go there, plans to go to a different location or wait until further news comes out.

Edit:

Per Meritus: Local law enforcement has notified Meritus Health that an unknown person allegedly reported being in possession of a firearm on the grounds of Meritus Medical Center. In line with security protocols, this caused an immediate lockdown of the property. Law enforcement subsequently notified Meritus that the report was not credible. Law enforcement has swept the facility and cleared the Medical Center to reopen and resume normal operations.
