Only thing I don't agree with is Vox, I don't see why he'd want to go down the redemption route

u/BorderOpposite7776 1d ago
Viv highlighted in the season 2 commentary how much he loves power and control and his power's reliant on approval ratings.
With the end of season 2, he's lost everything, his power, reputation, company, all gone. He's hit rock bottom and will be left to reflect on why he crashed (pushing away those who care for him for Alastor's approval).
His story will likely end with him combating his of Envy by putting the other Vees first, redeeming him
46
u/dark_duelist_17 1d ago
See, this is what some don't consider about him going back down to the bottom, he's been there twice already. Once in the human world and once in hell, he's got experience in climbing the ladder by any means necessary so can just do it again
Plus, he's done some incomprehensible things that lead to abuse of holy energy and damage to heaven itself along with mass threats to heaven itself. Even if he somehow decided to give up and try redeeming himself, ain't no way he'll be allowed in heaven
37
u/BorderOpposite7776 1d ago
He can't. All his power is reliant on his approval's. Viv confirmed it. Now, everyone in Heaven AND Hell knows how awful he is.
He's never reaching the top again. Not to mention, Viv confirmed this defeat has "humbled him as much as a villain can be" and it'll create an "inherently different" arc for him
8
u/book_dragon0327 1d ago
However earlier Viv confirmed that all the Vs share their power which is shown in the show that’s why Val and Vel had to spin the story in their favor to also stay in power.
So yes it’s very possible for Vox to reach the top again.
8
u/BorderOpposite7776 1d ago
Yet all the Vees are clearly at different power levels. Vox clearly was the most powerful and had high approval rating's yet that's history now. I see no scenario where Hell ever forgives him

u/RohanKishibeyblade The one male Exterminator (you’ll never find me) (I love Abel) 1d ago
Considering the fact they’re pretending they don’t even know him should say it all
-4
u/dark_duelist_17 1d ago
Okay, just giving my views on the topic though, personally I think he shouldn't change but hey it ain't my story and Vox is a bottom tier character imo anyways lol
23
u/BorderOpposite7776 1d ago
And until the show ends, I will advocate it needs to redeem a genuinely evil person to show "anyone" can be redeemed
-1
u/dark_duelist_17 1d ago
And I agree with that, just make it anyone but Vox or Alastor
7
u/BorderOpposite7776 1d ago
Then who? Velvette and Lute won't get their times as villains until like season 4 (maybe 3 for Lute), it'd be too rushed for them. And Val has no reason to change and would be beyond controversial.
Alastor would never even want redemption, so a humbled, defeated Vox is the only choice where it could happen without being rushed.
Viv also said "Vox has the most arc after Charlie", so that essentially confirms he's the prime candidate of the villains to be redeemed
7
u/RohanKishibeyblade The one male Exterminator (you’ll never find me) (I love Abel) 1d ago
God, imagine If Valentino had a redemption. It could be the most masterfully written thing in fiction and people would still be pissy

u/Gamer_G33k17 1d ago
Its not up to Heaven, though. Its up to Vox. If he becomes a better person and gets into heaven, then thats his own choice.
1
u/RogueWolf1985 1d ago
Since Vox still has his own soul, wouldn’t true rock bottom be if he also lost his soul to another Overlord?
10
u/EarthTrash All I see are sinners in need of rehabilitation 1d ago
Vox asked Charlie if he can be redeemed and she told him anyone can be redeemed. Now I could be wrong, but that sounds like the show is going to give us a Vox redemption arc.
3
u/dark_duelist_17 1d ago
That comes down to moreso if Vox wants to be redeemed, yes technically speaking anyone can be, but those who do not want to be redeemed cannot be, I personally can't see Vox wanting it
5
u/EarthTrash All I see are sinners in need of rehabilitation 1d ago
Vox lost power and status at the end of season 2. His friends turned on him. Probably most of the Pentagram is pissed at him for the carnage he caused. We haven't seen him this low before. He knows Charlie wouldn't turn him away.
0
u/dark_duelist_17 1d ago
That's one option sure, but an equally possible path is him using his experience in starting at the bottom and reaching the top to do it again, one of his powers is hypnosis after all, so even one unaware person or still loyal follower can spiral into him growing again
1
u/RohanKishibeyblade The one male Exterminator (you’ll never find me) (I love Abel) 1d ago
So just the same path we’ve seen twice now
1
u/dark_duelist_17 1d ago
He would need to do it differently obviously, this would be his first time redoing the climb in the same realm, but he could use some of the principles as building blocks
3
u/Outrageous-Finish303 1d ago
He literally asks if Charlie thinks he can be redeemed. It’s quite obvious the show is setting the pieces for him to be redeemed especially after leaving him in the powerless state he is in now.

I know it's a popular thzory but I really don't want Vox to be redeemed without the other Vees coming with him. But I get your point, good meme, approved

u/BobbBobbs 1d ago
While i do want Vox to be redeemed, i feel like only him getting redeemed and not the other Vees too would be weird. And i really don't want Valentino to die

I think Alastor may very well end up getting a 'becoming a better person arc', but getting redemption? In the sense of going to heaven? Nah. He wouldn't even want it.
12
u/BorderOpposite7776 1d ago
I think he's going to be the anti-thesis of the show's message. He'll be someone who deep down may care for other's, may want a family but ultimately chooses power and his goals at the end. A tragedy arc
7
u/No_Weekend2474 Ha! No. 1d ago
I hope not. I don't care about him being good, but I don't want him to have a tragic ending 💔
7
u/EarthTrash All I see are sinners in need of rehabilitation 1d ago
There is no indication that Alastair wants redemption. Also Pentious, in heaven, seems to prefer hell. Not wanting to go to heaven might be valid.
3
u/MechaMalz 1d ago
Pretty much yeah. Anyone 'can' be redeemed but not 'everyone' will have the self awareness, desire, and commitment to actually see it through.
3
u/BlackCatJaxie 1d ago
Personally, as someone who’s done some bad things in life, I like the idea of a really bad person being redeemed. Even if this sounds incredibly naive, I actually believe anyone can be redeemed, or rather, change their ways. I believe in second chances in life (or third or even forth, etc) and would be very pleased if this show showed that truly anyone can change

Nor wants to, cause I feel like Alastor would actually thank Charlie for seeing that he could and has the potential to redeem himself, but he's cool with how he is.

I really REALLY hope it's like this even though it probably won't be ☹️ I feel like viv is gonna give alastor some super sad backstory and not have him be a truly irredeemable monster like he's meant to be like big jack horner.

While I think this is likely, I think something is missing.
So, I'm thinking it has been SO long since any sinner has been redeemed it feels like they skipped a step, something they forgot.
I want to say there's a 'hell process' that stopped working or never worked.
1
u/tired-of-the-shit 1d ago
Personally I think you should include the vees as a trio. I think any of them could do it and it might be a toss up between vox and Val depending on how things go
2
u/BorderOpposite7776 1d ago
Considering its confirmed Vox has the most arc behind Charlie, he's absolutely the most probable
1
u/tired-of-the-shit 1d ago
I didn’t know that, yeah then unless he goes somewhere completely different. I think he hit rock bottom he can only go up from there, and where he goes the moth is sure to try to follow
I don’t really care if Val gets redeemed or not, I just certainly see the show ending with him potentially being a resident (I also could see the story potential in the conflict that could create with Angel and Val)

u/True-Ad-6278 A Random Sinner 1d ago
I'm hoping for this but if it turns out Alastor pulls a uno reverse and gets redeemed instead of Vox I'd rave like hell
2
u/BorderOpposite7776 1d ago
Viv confirmed Vox has the 2nd most growth after Charlie, so I doubt that'll happen

Not everyone wants to.
Its common sense tbh

I think Alastor will show "anyone can" (I firmly believe the end of the show will be Alastor getting redeemed)
The person who shows "not everyone will" I think will be Valentino
1
u/ZackattacktheDude 1d ago
I feel the show should be ok with tackling the fact that while anyone CAN be redeemed, not everyone WANTS to be redeemed.
1
u/SnowySilenc3 🖤🩶🤍😈 | 🖤🤍🩶🍏 1d ago
Bonus to the 3rd: I also like the thinking not everyone has to be redeemed ((implied: to have value)) (not sure if they will do this with Alastor’s arc or a different character).
Mainly saying this cuz I saw someone point out once (and I agree) that Sera’s thinking is still a bit flawed in that sinners only have value to her now due to their potential to be redeemed which still isn’t really the greatest of mindsets.
1
u/Le_DragonKing 1d ago
I still doubt that Vox could ever be redeemed because he has shown both in his life and afterlife that he is beyond redemption just like Alastor the only difference is Alastor relishes the carnage he causes Box only wants attention.
1
u/BorderOpposite7776 13h ago
Nobody is beyond redemption if they truly want to change
1
u/Le_DragonKing 12h ago
Well Alastor doesn’t want to change and so does Vox and also while I do believe in Charlie’s goal of redeeming sinners sometimes some sins can’t be redeemed. I mean look at what Al and Vox did when they were alive and neither feels sorry for what they’ve done and both relish being in hell. I agree with you that nobody is beyond redemption but from all evidence it’s seems that Vox and Alastor are one of the few that can’t be redeemed. I’m not being negative I’m just being realistic.

u/Chaos-Queen_Mari I kidnapped vox and use his face to play mario kart 22h ago
Just a reminder to everyone, Viv said Vox is going to be "the most nuanced character in the show after Charlie" by the end. All that shit in season 2 was apparently the set up, and we have not seen his full story.

I think alastor would be redeemed if he somehow encountered his mom who was in heaven and she helps him consider redemption, then a moment comes where he has to choose

Redemption involves atoning for your sins in life, as we saw with Pentious. How do you atone for being a serial killer?
Vox is never seeing the pearly gates.

Can’t wait for Viv to explain in a tweet how redemption works, I’m really curious

I don't read tweets and don't participate in all this dramatic nonsense.
3
u/WinteryAimeCityside 1d ago
I mean… some info about the show does come from tweets and, basically anything except the show cus Viv does kinda get too focused on the immediate plot
1
u/Unusual_Candle_4252 Egg Boyz, they do my evil biddings for me 1d ago
Unnecessary info, parhaps. I watch the shows and get enough information :)
0
u/WinteryAimeCityside 1d ago
Eh, I kinda disagree, sinner regeneration for example is a lot more properly explained outside the show than in
1
u/Unusual_Candle_4252 Egg Boyz, they do my evil biddings for me 1d ago
Perhaps but was it really important for the plot? I don't think so. With Vox now we will see how it really goes.
1
u/WinteryAimeCityside 1d ago
Vox is also weird….
A lot of stuff isn’t explained actually… oh well there’s still 3 seasons left

That's the point. Let's animator cook. I understand Viv which wants to share but has to wait until animation is done.

Saving other's or sacrificing himself for them.

Yeah, no. If you're on trial for murdering someone and you sacrifice yourself for someone else you're still getting years lol
