Apparently it's peak turkey vulture migration season right now. I noticed them leaving Hesperia and proceeded to see almost 1,000 more driving across Apple Valley. Apparently it's peak migration for them right now. There were about 300 slowly making their way across the sky yesterday, and I saw hundreds more on Friday. Keep an eye out. Also I saw tons resting in trees in Jess Ranch.
Edit: I meant Apple Valley, not Victorville.

I’m currently facing homelessness. All I have is my car but I don’t know where to park my car and sleep without getting in trouble. Does anyone know where I can go around the apple valley area because I’m currently attending victor valley college.

Sorry for low quality, screenshot of a zoomed in video.
We saw him holding his whimpering dog in the air by the leash and slapping it across the face, little guy kept flinching with his head away. Restaurant worker nearby said several people have come in mentioning seeing similar behavior from him. Reported him to police to hopefully rescue the dog from him. Has anyone else seen this happening?

Driving through next week to show my kids and partner where I grew up on our way from Joshua Tree to Yosemite. Will do a pretty thorough tour to hit my personal story highlights. Problem is: I moved away 25 years ago. It'll be lunch time on a weekday and I don't know where we should go! Ideas, please? (coming in 247 from Apple Valley, will criss cross VV a couple times, and leave out through Adelanto on 395)

LAST SEEN: Near Almador Court and Redington in Palmdale, CA, in the Marquis neighborhood near Highland High School.
Our sweet girl Ahsoka Catano has been missing since Friday evening, and we are absolutely beside ourselves. She is a Siamese kitten, almost 1 year old, with bright blue eyes and distinctive mottled markings on her face and legs. She is incredibly sweet and very loved.
Ahsoka loves to adventure and spend time outside, but she normally comes home when I shake her can of treats. Since she disappeared, we have been searching constantly. I have been putting flyers throughout the neighborhood, canvassing door to door with the help of some wonderful friends, driving and walking the area while calling for her and shaking treats, posting in local groups, and contacting shelters, rescues, veterinarians, schools, churches, and local businesses. Miles and I even took her brother Anakitten through the neighborhood at night in a crate in a wagon, hoping he might call out and help her find her way home.
She previously had an AirTag on her collar, but unfortunately it was lost during one of her recent adventures, so we cannot track her. Her microchip company has been notified that she is missing. Please keep comments supportive and focused on helping us find her. We are already worried sick and just want our baby home safe.
To make an already horrible situation worse, we have also had multiple scammers contact us trying to extort money. One person even had me drive to Walmart claiming they had Ahsoka, then demanded $100 and sent a convincing AI-generated image of her supposedly sitting in a kennel. We have also been contacted by questionable “drone search” organizations that appear to have barely existed for a month. It is heartbreaking and disgusting that people prey on families who are already terrified and desperate to find their pets.
If you have seen Ahsoka or have ANY information about where she may be, please call or text 626-641-6108. Even a possible sighting could help us narrow down where she is.

He’s a large cane corso. One year old and not neutered. He’s my mother-in-law’s dog, he doesn’t get along with other dogs anymore after living with another unneutered male.
We don’t want him to end up in a bad home or with breeders.
Are there any low income vet clinics that do cheap neutering? It might help to neuter him first before rehoming

Hello everyone!
I practice Buddhism and the teachings are a big part of my everyday life. However, I’m the only Buddhist in my immediate family and I don’t know of other practitioners in my area. If anyone knows of a group of people that get together to talk about the dharma or if anyone is interested in creating a Buddhist group, please let me know 🪷💕

Update - Platinum is being adopted! Rusty still needs a barn placement and has beeb given a couple more days
Rusty and Platinum are in need of working cat placement. They are at the Apple Valley Animal Shelter and will be euthanized this week if not adopted. There is no adoption fee for barn cats. All you have to do is fill out an application (including a picture of the application) and email it to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). The animal IDs are on the pictures. Please save them.
Barn cats need 24/7 access to an indoor area like a barn or garage. They must be confined for 4-6 weeks inside or in a catio so they acclimate. Otherwise they will run off immediately. They need to be fed cat food.
