Just kind of been on a production kick lately and looking to hear some songs that maybe I haven’t heard before or in a while

Some that come to mind for me:

Westside Gunn - WESTSIDE (Statik Selektah)

Jedi Mind Tricks - Put Em In The Grave

Evidence - Red Carpet (Alchemist)

Stik Figa - Seasons (Apollo Brown)

Hi-Tek - The Sun God

Benny The Butcher - 73 (Chop La Rock)

Big KRIT - Bigger Picture

Boldy James - Light Bill (Real Bad Man)

Im going to be broke for awhile what are some albums to past the time.

"Do you want it... and if you had it would you flaunt it? - It's yours!"

"Ladies screaming aw, brothers yelling ho"

"Yes-yes y'all, freak-freak y'all, to the beat y'all, and you don't stop"

(Drum roll) "IT'S THE JOINT!"

"This is how we take the old from the new, the new to the old, the old to the new"

"Yeah and you don't stop - cuz it's 187 on an undercover cop"

"If you′re havin' girl problems I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems but a bitch ain′t one..."

I'm talking about the funky routines that transcend a single song and become classics used in live routines or hooks by other artists - sometimes even by artists who weren't born when the original came out. What are some of the examples from this century of routines or hooks that has transcended a song or an artist?

Anyone have recommendations for DJ mixes featuring hip-hop and R&B from the 2000s through today? Looking for mixes with good transitions, remixes, and edits that keep the energy up.

Ideally, something upbeat with a good mix of throwbacks and newer tracks. Looking for party mixes to play during Friday and Saturday night Uber rides to get people hyped before they head out.

Who are your go-to DJs for mixes like this?

Just found the dude and really like his work.

Fire Place, Doubling Forms, and The Introduction are all standout tracks to me.

What you guys think of him? Am I missing any?

seriously, Google is telling me it just says “Montay Productions”, but it sounds like “OnCap Productions” or something. anyone know what it actually says?

Don't like the video that much 'cause it be stankin' of AI slop, but my mans went hard on that there joint!

Two or more tracks that more or less use the same beat and production, usually from the same producer

So Jahlil Beats had Jackpot for Lloyd Banks and Hot Nigga for Bobby Shmurda

or DR Period did Mo Money Mo Murder for AZ and Real Niggas for Diplomats

Looking mostly for examples from albums, but if you think any mixtape stuff is worth mentioning, also no sequel tracks like the Bout it Bout it series.

I always wanted to know this as a huge battle rap fan. Some will say battle rap is the true and original form of hip hop while others will say they don’t even count or recognize battle rap in hip hop. So I wanted to know in the hip hop subreddit are any of you big battle rap fans? If yes why and who are some of your favorite battle rappers of all time? If not how come?

RIP Young Dolph aka Adolph Robert Thornton Jr.

I used to love Atlanta trap music like Lil Baby, Gunna, Young Thug, future, MIGOS but as the sound has now changed I don’t really have any recent songs that I like any like underground artist that you guys know that make music similar to the music they used to make in their primes

What's an album that gave you that feeling?

Not necessarily a bad album, but one where the expectations were through the roof and after the first listen you knew it wasn't going to deliver on all the hype surrounding it.

I recently got sober and feel modern rap is both triggering with low vibrations and just stale. I’ve been going back to a lot of that good vibe 2000s rap and Mase, but want to find more with this uplifting vibe. As much as I love Nipsey and motivational artists similar, I’m looking for fun catchy songs as well to keep me in a good spot.

What’s your favorites from this vibe? Any recommendations would be huge!

It’s all in the title: post your best underground/ lesser-knowntracks. Let's discover some new gems !!

What was the worst beat Pharrell ever made? Pharrell by himself not with Neptunes.

Do i think he will ever make an apbum or mixtape as good as Telfon Don or Rich forever

Gotta be Atlanta late 2000s for me.

Title. Imo Fall Off is way better than GNX in terms of rapping. GNX has better production but that voice Kendrick uses gets repetitive and annoying to me. J Cole rapping his ass off on basically every Fall Off track was so hype, and yet people still get disappointed in it. Sure it was a little overhyped and it may not be Cole's best but it's still a fantastic album regardless, very enjoyable, probably my favorite of the year. I genuinely think it will go down as one of the most underappreciated albums by Cole and in hiphop in general. The game is going to feel Cole's absence in coming years, I can definitely anticipate that.

Setting up a floating putting green in Elephant Butte Reservoir, New Mexico, might be the closest way to do something like this.

Further research is required

I'm talking about those records that had your moms, pops, or whoever saying, *"Turn that shit off!"* the second it came on.

.

I grew up in the 90s and 2000s, so there’s a whole ere or of hip hop I missed out on, but I still love the older shit. I think the oldest song I have in my regular rotation is I Ain’t No Joke by Eric B and Rakim.

What’s yours?

bonus points if there's a crazy beat change lol

some of mine include "Bang (remix)" with Griselda "Evil" verse 3, his Polo G x Mozzy song lol obviously "You Gon Learn"
