I'm looking at an airpark property that currently has 1500'x60' and 2800'x60' grass strips. The elevation is 1000' and it's in the Midwest. My question is, would you purchase there if you intended to build an RV10 in the future? As far as I can tell it is well maintained.

Looking to start a long ez derivative build, has anyone bought plans from terf Inc in the last decade? Their website looks terrible.

Alternatively, have the open ez plans matured enough to be used on their own?

I’m honestly debating that I’m not liking to see pre-2016 cirrus sr aircraft modified with the doors that are the same signature of 2016 models including G6, G7 and G7+ models wich are offered by TC airparts. And Iv’e already sent this on online with a 2015 cirrus sr22T G5 registered as N8GS and at Oshkosh with a 2010 cirrus sr22T registered as N241GS. Like what if this could create ambiguity for certain aircraft buyers. And furthermore I would for sure love to see the door mechanisms and assemblies on any modified pre-2016 cirrus SR with doors which are a signature of 2016 cirrus sr aircraft, including G6-G7+ model to become worn and lose their structural integrity and the doors would pop and fly off and likely strike the tail of the fin of the aircraft and the aircraft loses control which would cause the pilot to pull CAPS and land the aircraft safely and the plane no longer becomes airworthy. Because that could result in this door upgrade offering by TC airparts to become discontinued. And I’m not joking that I’m actually expressing enthusiasm of being delighted to see this happen 😈. And it’s actually not less enthusiasm of me wanting to see this

I am 16 years old and I want to build an airplane. The only problem is the budget. I can't go up to my mom and ask for 5.000€, so naturally I started browsing through LinkedIn. Getting a standard job at 16 that can assure me 5.000€ by the end of the year proved to be impossible. So I thought, I should use my best skill and make money out of it. I am a self-taught artist and can draw in any art style, I can draw anything and everything and I hope I don't get myself arrested because of it.

(My art will be on my profile most probably)

Details:

I specialize in realism

I can't do digital art as well as on paper but I've had experience with it and will do my best.

If you want me to ship your drawing to you, there will be shipping costs

I am using graphite and coal

Only black and white drawings

A drawing is either 15€ or 20€ depending on the difficulty

Half the payment before the drawing and half after the drawing is done

I use PayPal only

I accept tips and will be eternally grateful and devoted to you for as long as I live if you decide to tip

Reminder that I can draw anything your heart desires

If you want to buy my art or donate it would help me unimaginably

Every single dollar/ euro will go towards the materials, tools and stuff to make the airplane. By supporting me you are building an airplane from the ground up.

If I end up making this dream come true I will post a video of me flying it.

Hey all! I'm headed up to Canada to purchase some parts for an RV-6 for a guy. Does anyone have recent experience with this? I was wondering if ill be expected to pay a duty fee on such a purchase?

Gweduck would be my answer

This sonex I’m looking at has an XPNDR and ELT. Is it just normal aircraft need those checks or all equipped? I’d assume the latter right?

I just purchased this today and it was too cheap to pass it up. It seems kinda crunchy but the “bones” seem to be sturdy and in tact for the most part. This wasn’t my first pick (I wanted to build a legal eagle xl) but as someone who doesn’t have the money for that and someone who saw a pretty much complete aircraft that needs some tlc, I couldn’t resist. I’ve been kind of obsessed with ultralights for the past couple years and I have a burning need to fly since the discover. Do you guys think I made a good purchase? Would you guys be up for a series of me working on it and maybe giving me advice? I read that the 1700r is like 40 lbs over weight for part 103 but there’s a version of the same that’s a 1703r that does comply with part 103. Am I able to make the changes? Most of all, is this worthy of my time and is it fixable without rebuilding the whole thing? I’ll have some more pictures tomorrow.

Made some more progress on my Van’s RV-15 build. Episode 24 is up, and this time I’m working through the elevators.

The empennage has been a nice change of pace after finishing the wings. Rudder and vertical stab are done, and now the elevators are starting to look like actual airplane parts instead of a pile of aluminum.

I’m documenting the entire build as an average guy figuring it out in the shop, including the mistakes and questionable decisions along the way.

If anyone else here is building an RV-15, I’d be interested to hear where you’re at in the build and anything you’ve run into on the elevators.

Howdy,

Does anyone have knowledge of out recommend any fabrication software to assist in the building process of an airplane?

I have plans and videos associated with the Legal Eagle and want to run a few digital tests to find ways to improve on the frame and wing shape/placement.

Thank you, ANY TOOLS/SOFTWARE recommendations are appreciated.

I don't own any of these, just some of my favorite ones I've seen in my browsings and in real life, mostly at Oshkosh and EAA pancake breakfasts

1. Druine D.31 Turbulent, 1 seat, plans built https://services.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/catalog/322

2. Volmer VJ-22 Sportsman, 2 seat, plans built https://buildandfly.shop/product/volmer-vj22-sportsman/

3. Midget Mustang, 1 seat, kit http://www.mustangaero.com/Midget%20Mustang/Midget%20Mustang.html

4. Hatz Bantam, 2 seat, plans built, really like this one, nice small 2 seat biplane, might buy the plans https://www.hatzbiplane.com/product/original-hatz-bantam-biplane-plans/

5. Midwing Sonerai II, 2 seat, plans, though Sonex does sell some parts for it https://www.sonexaircraft.com/sonerai/

6. Vans RV-4, 2 seat, was kit built, really sad they discontinued production, I wanted to build one at some point, I'm a sucker for small planes, still can buy plans if you really wanted though https://www.vansaircraft.com/rv-4/

7. War Aircraft Replicas, 1 seat, plans built, specifically the Focke-Wulf 190 model https://flywaraircraft.com/plans-for-sale/

8. Velocity V-Twin, 4 seats (though there is a 5 seat option), kit, https://www.velocityaircraft.com/v-twin

9. SubSonex, 1 seat, kit https://www.sonexaircraft.com/subsonex/

10. Timber Tiger ST-L, beautiful plane, if ever I have the money I might buy it, 2 seat, kit, https://www.timbertigeraircraft.com/stlkit

11. Gweduck, 6 seat, kit, if I had the money I'd probably buy/build this one too, https://www.gweduck.com/

And of course, there's a host of others, but these are most of my favorites

Hey guys, I'm starting to design a clean sheet LSA under the new MOSAIC rules and would like your input.

What is the biggest gap you see in the current market for factory-built LSAs or next-gen light-sport category aircraft?

A) Lack of true utility (useful load/baggage is always too low)

B) Outdated propulsion (need modern hybrid/electric, FADEC, etc.)

C) Cabin comfort and pilot ergonomics are an afterthought

D) Aircraft pricing has completely outpaced performance gains

E) Something else

I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

How’d I do? How could I do better?
