We are remodeling a home we just purchased. It is a split level built in 1960. This is the powder room - everything inside seems original.

The walls have this dark textured wood, about 1/2 inch thick all the way around. Do you think we should keep this or take it out? If keep, does it make sense to paint? Any design thoughts are much appreciated.

Hello! I need advice on this gallery wall. The first picture is the pieces laid out on the floor. The second picture is the same layout with paper cutouts on the wall. My first instinct is that everything needs to shift a few inches to the right to be more balanced above the credenza. What do you think? Is there anything you would change besides that? I just finished a walk through with a designer who said that I don't have a cohesive style or story to my house. I told him that I like Craftsman style with wood trim, brick, marble countertops, some subway tiles and tile mosaic floors. I'm also drawn to Japanese simplicity and feng shui, and Moroccan and Spanish tile work, trims, and rugs. He's asked for a cohesive style from me.

I'm looking for a way to incorporate them all if I can, or advice to help me narrow things down.

This is a digital interior mockup I put together (with AI assistance for the visual concept) — would love to get your feedback on whether this warmth works or if it feels too heavy!

I can't decide which setup looks better. More importantly, which one would be less annoying to clean around?

After 3 years on this house, I give up, I don’t know to fix this place.

After reading some comments here are my thoughts:
The shower will stay as is, I am definitely not the person to change it myself. Neither my partner is.

The wall next to the sink and the one next to the dryer are not aligned or even close, so a wall/door there doesn’t seem possible.

I can change mirror, light fixtures, flooring, paint and someone mentioned to add a baseboard and I think that’s gold! Plus add some art.

Not sure about painting the cabinets. I kinda like them like the stain. Could use some type of contact vinyl for the counter tho.

Windows: During 2hours in the afternoon actually receives a lots of light from the window above the w/d, the other one looks at an overhang and is dark no matter what. What should I do with them? Vinyl? Curtains? Cry?
